I have been playing the flute since my first year of middle school. 8 years later, I am now in college and needed a better quality flute that would allow me to expand on my own skills as a flautist. It comes with the hard case, a sleeve to put the hard case inside and carry it, a wooden cleaning rod, and 2 different types of cleaning cloths. I am assuming one is to clean the inside and the other to polish the outside. One of the main reasons I chose this flute was because of the B foot joint (the extra key at the bottom to hit the B below the lowest C) as well as the open holes. I have been told by band directors and more advanced flautists that open holed flutes allow for better quality sounds. I myself have not taken the plugs out yet, but from my understanding it does take a while to get used to your fingers fully covering each hole. I believe this flute is silver plated, not fully silver. But it is so well built that a good player can still produce wonderful sounds on it. This flute is very responsive to my air flow and really allows me to emphasize on dynamics. While I was searching for an intermediate flute, I ran across many flutes that were well above $1000 with the same specs as this one. The price for this Pearl flute (a very reputable flute brand) is rather reasonable considering the specs. I wouldn't say this flute is for a beginner, but more for a student who is serious about practicing and who may eventually want to become a professional. It is overall a beautiful instrument with nice full tone quality. I rely heavily on reviews when purchasing stuff on the internet and know the importance of writing them as well to help others in their decisions. This is one of the best flutes I have ever tried for band. 2 years ago, I was struggling to find a flute for band since I was a beginner. My band teacher gave different types of flutes to try out but none of them were really that good, but then I bought a different one for $160. It was an okay flute but very cheap like. So now that this is my 3rd year going into playing the flute I got this a couple of months ago since my new band teacher told me I should get a more expensive one with better quality and she was right. This flute sounds like a dream to play, it has a great sound not cheap quality and approved by my band teacher. Also, it came in good hands when it arrived everything organized and neat. I would honestly recommend this beautiful flute to anyone who needs a better flute for improvement. Best flute I've ever bought.

This is a great beginner to intermediate level flute. The sound is clear and it's solidly built. It comes with the hole covers (already installed), which can be popped out when the musician is ready to move to open hole, and has the low B key. Pearl makes a great flute, and this is no exception. Pricy for a beginner, but worth the $ for it's features. The silver plating allows for great sound quality, and the flute can easily be upgraded by replacing the head joint without the expense of a new flute until the musician is ready for something higher end.

Wanting to continue music in college, I ended up buying this flute because of how well the price was. I got it used but it honestly looked brand new when I got it. I'm extreme impressed by the instrument itself and I have some getting used to playing with an open hole flute. It also came along with the plugs for the holes. The sound quality was great and I did notice a richer sound as I played it. I highly recommended this product for advancing musicians who are serious about music.

This flute is to replace my student flute (my first one), of which I have owned and played for over 50 years!! I purchased a Pearl piccolo 2 years ago and love it, so I went with a new Pearl flute. This new instrument has such a warm vibrant sound that amazes me. It is so easy to play the upper third octave notes. I am thrilled with this flute and wish I had made this purchase way before this.

I've had this flute for 7 months. It's a very good beginner's flute. The sound is full and clear. I like that you can use it open hole or closed hole. The finish still looks brand new with every day use.

I was worried to buy this but after playing it for the first time I could definitely hear a difference compared to my beginner flute. Cause wow.. the vibrato on this flute is so much easier to play out and the sound is so beautiful, I’m so happy I bought this one and now I don’t need to buy the $2,000-$3,000 ones haha
