Partanna Extra Virgin Olive Oil tastes very good and has always been fresh when I have purchased it. It's made from Nocellara olives, which are high in linoleic acid, but low in healthy polyphenols. If you are looking for a high polyphenol olive oil, Amazon has many excellent and reasonably priced Greek olive oils made from Koroneiki olives, a variety that is very high in polyphenols. I like both the Italian and Greek olive oils, but purchase the Greek more often due to the higher polyphenol levels. ... show more

I’ve been buying Partana for years from a local Italian market, it’s just the best olive oil for the money. Perfect for any cooking where you might otherwise be inclined to use vegetable oil or canola oil (DON’T! There’s no such thing as a “canola” plant, it’s called that because the CANada Oil company realized that “rapeseed oil” would never sell.) This olive oil is also fantastic with bread for dipping, and it’s also my go-to salad dressing. It has a nice slightly peppery flavor that distinguishes it from other olive oils. I can't afford the ultra high phenolic boutique type olive oils, but I'm uneasy about the cheap blends that masquerade as olive oils in most supermarkets. This is a good compromise. I love this EVOO, but If I receive another can in the condition I received today I'll return it and go to someone else to purchase from. The are attractive cans and I save them...this one looks like it was dropped off a multi level building. Apparently there are no people who care to handle "with care". I've been a long time Amazon customer form the early days of books only but I'm starting to re-think Amazon...not what it used to be. And yes, the shipping box was mashed. Good job, guys! I've ordered tons of stuff from Amazon but have written only a very few reviews. This is one of those moments when I am compelled to write. After much research, and I think, thoroughly educating myself on the tremendous health benefits of consuming olive oil, my next task was to find the genuine product from the sea of fake or sub-standard olive oil. Long story short, my search led me to Partanna - along with a few other good candidates as runners-up. I am now on my third order of the 101oz. can, and I am beyond happy that this is both the brand and the size that I settled on. I find that it works excellent when sautéing vegetables or just pouring it on a salad or pretty much any dish that I'm having. The flavor is quite delicious. It is fair to say that at this point, I'm quite addicted to the product and the brand. If you're searching for a top-quality olive oil, consider your search over. You will thoroughly enjoy that product. For the record, I was neither offered nor given any incentive to write this review, I'm doing so as a genuinely satisfied customer. Given its high quality, there is absolutely no need for the manufacturer to embellish or artificially induce others to buy this product. It stands very well on its own merits. I'll continue to buy it for as long as it is sold on Amazon or wherever else it is sold. Edit 2/25/23: I forgot to add that, a few people seem to have difficulty pouring the oil from the can without making a mess, and while some have suggested punching holes in the top of the can, this is not necessary. You simply have to pull the two "ears" on the cap to extend the pouring spout, as seen in the pictures I've added. To make it even easier for myself, I fill a dark glass bottle (it HAS TO BE DARK to avoid oxidization) with what I need. So far, no problems. Hope this helps. ... show more
