  • Good product, but over price.
This Park Tool Caliper works fine. I compare it vs a Mitutoyo 500-196-20 and both read the same values. It's not the same quality as Mitutoyo but you pay less than a half of Mitutoyo price. However, I notice that this Park Tool Caliper is the same as the Neiko 01407A Stanless Steel 6-Inch Digital Caliper with Extra-Large LCD Screen and Instant SAE-Metric Conversion (same product, same plastic case and even same package) and this one cost just $16.99 @ Amazon. If you don't mind to pay the extra money for a "Park Tool" label (as I did), go for it. If you want to save some bucks, I think Neiko it's a good choice. The 3 star rating is just for the over price, otherwise I would rate it 4 stars. Now, you can change the reading in 3 ways: mm with 2 decimals; inches with 4 decimals; and fracctional inch in 1/128th format (not 1/16th as the picture shows). You can reset to zero at any aperture to read differentials or negative values. It also come with two batteries (The Caliper needs only one battery, so you have an extra battery for the future). The Caliper turns on automatically as you start to use it (no need to press the on/off button). ... show more

  • Not made in the USA
Bought this because park tools makes tools in the USA and was willing to pay extra for that. It is made in China unfortunately. Took works fine though.

  • This is a very good quality, smooth operating instrument
This is a very good quality, smooth operating instrument. Comes with a nice sturdy storage case and includes an extra battery. You can switch from metric to inches with the push of a button! Also includes an off button to save your battery! Very nice tool!

  • ... a battery come apart inside and render the tool useless. Park sent a new one out right away
First one I bought had a battery come apart inside and render the tool useless. Park sent a new one out right away. 5 stars for the product as the new one works perfectly, and 5 stars for Park customer service.

  • a good tool to have in your home shop
lots of brands out there to do the same thing. I'm a Park Tools guy. I use it more than I thought I would. This is another tool that isn't that sexy but will quickly pay for itself if you are doing a lot of tweaking, upgrading or repairing your friends bikes.

  • Works as advertised.
I purchased this so I could accurately size the parts on my bicycles so that I could buy the correct parts and/or tools. It is simple to use and gives very accurate readings. It comes in a hard, foam-lined case for protection. I am happy with it, and would buy it again if I had to.

  • Techy
Originally I was enticed by the exactness of a digital read... But now I realize it isn't a big jump over the old dial-reads. On top of that, the battery gets drained if you leave it in, even if the caliper is off.

  • Park Digital Caliper
I've been using the caliper for a number of months and found it to be very useful. It is very easy to use. The plastic case it came with is a nice plus for protecting and storing the tool.
