Para film Grafting Tape is Manufactured by Original Para film M Manufacturer and is an economical plant grafting solution that is easy-to-use, and makes nursery grafting and/or budding efforts efficient for various grafters (nursery, landscapers, and home gardeners). Para film Grafting Tape is Waterproof, Flexible, Stretchable, and Self-Adhering. Its Breathable properties allows gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc. to pass through, and as such offers an excellent breathable moisture barrier. The combination is perfect for grafting which requires a barrier to keep moisture in while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through. Para film Grafting Tape is not suitable for Laboratory use or in Areas where Temperatures exceed 54°C (130°F).

    • I used this to graft apples & the first is budding now.
I don't know if all my grafts will take but I used this to graft apple scions onto rootstock and found it easy to use. You'll have to make a decision how far up the scion to wrap. I did only a few inches on most and I think I did 5 or so. I ordered scions by mail, so some were off on the size I needed. The ones that match size closest seem like they are going to take - at least one has for sure. I used some flagging tape on the outside of this to hold it together more securely. I'm not sure if it was required or not but it felt like that held better. By what I read, the scion shoots will grow right through this tape, but I will likely remove this soon on the scions that look like they took. I have plenty left to do many more cuttings.     • Much better than the saran wrap style
Ive been looking for this type for a while and it is way better for grafting than the saran wrap style that are very prevalent. This is more of a waxy style and it sticks more to the plant and makes it easier to graft!

    • Ok for grafting maybe
This tape is stretchy but has very low tensile strength and no stickiness to it at all. I'm using it to wrap around petri dishes and it does work, but not as well as tape made for petri dishes. This is grafting tape and will do fine for grafting.

Although half inch isn't what ide prefer it does the job. And it was the only parafilm able to get buy Californias shipping issues. Now that it's been tested, it's time to buy the 1 inch and ship it to my buddys house so he can mail it here

    • These are the real thing!
I was worried when reading others negative reviews, but once I got my grafting tapes they were just exactly what I needed. These are real professional grafting tapes. Not the cheap plastic ones like saran wrap. These are coated with wax. They are stretchy and self adhesive. They are water proof yet allow plants to breathe and grow.     • Doesn't feel like real parafilm M but will work for grafting.
I compared it to the real parafilm M. It doesn't stretch as much before ripping. It doesn't seem to stick to itself as much. When fully stretching until it rips, the real parafilm m feels thinner afterwards. It also is still stretchy afterwards and I can pull to get the parafilm M to be thinner. After ripping, this amazon listing is kind of thick and has very little stretch. I can't seem to pull it more to get it thinner like the real stuff. Overall, I think it will work ok for grafting and it was cheapest option I've seen if you only need a bit. This is better than the plastic strips. I think the buds should be ok to break through the tape if you stretch it enough and only do 1 layer. I gave it 1 star due to it not being the real thing. ... show more
