Well, good news is these work great. Haven’t seen any scratching since I put them on. The bad news, my kitten wants to eat them. He has started to lick them incessantly. We purchased this item as our stupid cats decided our new storage ottoman was going to be their personal scratching post, within 20 minutes of its delivery. I had a choice to make, either find something to make them stop or get rid of the cats. Unfortunately, my kids are quite attached to the cats so I purchased this item in hopes of saving my new piece of furniture. We hid the ottoman until this delivered, and it was delivered surprisingly fast! We put these on and it instantly did the job. The big fat offender went over to sharpen her claws within minutes of bringing the ottoman back out into the living space and was very surprised when the ottoman fought back. It was glorious. She was not happy at all. The skinny little one was next and her attempt to kill the ottoman was brilliantly cut short thanks to her little paws getting momentarily detained by this adhesive. It isnt so sticky where they get stuck (that would be funny, not going to lie) but they do get taken off guard when their little murder mittens get held back for a second. They havent tried to take on the ottoman since their first encounter with this product. It is clear so unless the light hits it, you cannot see it. We will be removing it in a few weeks to see if they still stay away from it thinking they will still hit resistance. Theyre pretty moronic so I dont know how hopeful I am. I tried many different sprays and none of them worked. I wish I had bought this first. I placed the tape on the spots my cat wanted to scratch, and he immediately stopped scratching in those areas. He went over and smelled the tape and turned away from the furniture. I must add I bought a vertical scratcher from Amazon and he has been doing all his scratching there. A couple of times I got too close to the tape and it stuck to me, but I believe the adhesion is good and I am happy with the result. ... show more

* EDIT* Please not, this is a great product. Damage is entirely my fault. Company contacted me and offered full refund and sincere apologies. They noted that pkg states not for faux or real leather. I feel so bad for my review! I clearly did not pay attention and all fault is my own! I have only had these on my leather chair for 2 1/2 wks and am struggling to restore the low luster after these were ever so difficult to remove. It’s like it removed the finish! It did detour my cat, but at what cost! I will try leather cream, but I cannot safely recommend these, sadly. ... show more

FINAL UPDATE, AS PROMISED: Tried the replacement products, and they stick well and really work! My determined-to-destroy girl just gets a weird look on her face whenever she nears the tape and goes in the other direction. I wish I'd found this stuff years (and various pieces of furniture) ago when we first adopted her. Thanks for a great product and for the excellent customer service that led me to "stick with it" even when my first order seemed imperfect. (Yep, bad pun intended.) UPDATE: Immediately after I posted this review, the company contacted me. Convinced that I just got a one-off defective product, they not only refunded the purchase price, but they also shipped me a replacement and additional products to help me with my demon scratcher girl! I haven't removed the gappy, poorly stuck sheets yet because they DO work, but as soon as I do replace them with the new ones that I hope will adhere and look better, I will update this again. For now, I would definitely recommend giving this product a go, knowing you are dealing with a company that stands solidly behind what they sell! INITIAL REVIEW: I WANT to love this product, but for some reason, it just doesn't want to stick to our new chair. We followed directions, but no matter how hard we try to press or smooth it into place, we can't get it to adhere tightly without gaps. We're worried that our demon scratcher will see getting it the rest of the way off as a challenge! We also wasted part of one piece because the BLUE paper stuck to it, tore, and we couldn't get that paper off come hell or high water! Very good adhesive. Cat hair does seem to stick to the adhesive, as our cat has very long hair. It has seemed to deter him from scratching the furniture. I would say it did the job. NOT TO BE USED ON LEATHER.

Bought this to prevent my cat from scratching my new couch, worked great! But when time came to remove, tape ripped off the pattern. So if you need to remove with no ripping use a blow dryer to warm up the tape and let the weight of your hand remove! Don’t pull..
