We absolutely love the Panda Drum! I bought it for my 7-year-old daughter and, to be honest, I was a little worried it might be loud or annoying like some kids’ instruments can be. I was pleasantly surprised. The sound is actually very nice—soft, calming, and melodic rather than noisy or harsh. It’s well made, easy for her to play, and she enjoys experimenting with different rhythms and tones. I love that it encourages creativity and musical exploration without overwhelming the room. This little Panda Drum is just great. I'm a preschool music teacher and saw an ad for Panda Drums and was intrigued. So I ordered a small one. I ordered the white one, but there were other colors and sizes available. It's like a little steel drum with the same enchanting, peaceful sound. It comes in a sturdy case with a shoulder strap which makes it very easy to transport. Two mallets with soft knitted covers help make the sound so nice. The top of the drum has numbered "notes" to correspond with a great little songbook included. It was very easy to play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"! I know my young children will love taking turns playing our Panda Drum! It was so worth the money!

I love it! You can achieve different sounds with option of removing the covers on the mallets. I did have to take a black marker to darken the numbers so I could see them better against the color. The music book was much too small to read and busy for a new player. I found other options. I like the size of this drum and very happy with this purchase.
