Admittedly, I have an extensive background with LED signage, but I found this product super easy to use. It does require a closed network to set up, so get a cheap $20 router to use for programming. Much better than the hours you'll spend with the USB. As for programming the sign, the software is easy as well. Works at least as well as I expected. Application is to identify volunteers during nighttime astronomy events. For that, I wish it would dim down more. Programming was easy, although the documentation is typical Chinglish. Stores more messages (8) than I expected. One problem is that the safety pin clasp is small, and the magnetic attachment bar is weak. Maybe the intent was that this would only be worn on thin fabric and both attachments would be used. ... show more

What is terrific about this is that there are way too many options for displaying my name. That really impressed me. But what I like is that it comes with a magnetic holder for lightweight clothing that you don’t want to punch holes in and a pin for heavier clothing.     • Great Color, Features & Functions; Insanely Difficult Programming & Connectivity Problems

After reading other reviews here, I was a bit worried if I could even use this. Well, I could, but not like it is advertised. BOTTOM LINE: I got it working with my own input, but at a minimally functional level, so I am keeping it. But I don't want to take days or weeks learning how to do something more complicated, basically only through trial and error, since instructions and explanations are woefully inadequate. I would if it had better instructions and it connected easily. The biggest obstruction is a connectivity issue between the PC and the unit. Now I will give details and explain why. First, let's be clear - this thing is a Chinese message board, designed for Chinese people. It comes with loads of animated images, messages, etc, all in Chinese - especially for weddings. The English guide is terribly thin and no guide at all to make more complicated message effects. There are 2 ways to connect to the unit - either through a PC or through a cell phone. You need to install software for either. The unit also comes with a preprogrammed message that shows a small sample of effects it can do. I tried the PC way first. Without really trying and connection to the unit, I found I could change the clock setting on the unit. But for any message, I just could not connect to it. I kept getting error messages, and the manual was useless for any troubleshooting. The makers make an effort at getting you up and running, but their manual is not helpful for connection problems - they even give you a flash drive with a video, but it offers nothing new that the manual doesn't. The manual goes through Step 1, 2, 3 etc, and makes it look like snap, crackle, pop, you're done. But with connection errors, you just hit a brick wall. Finally I tried my iphone. This time I could connect easily, but the app appears to be a deeply stripped down version of the program. In the end, I just changed the wording of their preprogrammed message, and it did the job. if I couldn't connect with my phone, I'd have no choice but to get a refund. ... show more

It arrived on time. The LED name tag is exactly as described and price is reasonable. If you do not have a DVD drive, seller will send a link to the software needed to operate. Instructions are easy enough to understand. You can set it to blink and other cool settings. Highly recommend.
