I did buy the XL and they weren't kidding, it's BIG! Has squeakers in all 4 legs but they move so it won't take long for them to migrate into the body. The body has a, umm, I'll call it a huffer LOL! It makes noise but not like a squeaker, it's lower pitched. I'm not too sure my dog will ever figure out the middle noise maker but that's ok. He's never has a plushy this big, we'll see how long the legs stay on. I'm not expecting them to last long just because my dog loves to disassemble anything I give him. I will sew them closed once he chews them off. Over all very happy with the plushy and would buy again. ... show more

My service dog’s favorite toy (a honking goose) fell apart after 2 years and my buddy was sad. I searched Amazon for a replacement goose but couldn’t find one. After literally hours of searching for something my buddy would like, I realized that it was the honking sound he seemed to enjoy more than anything. So I looked for something that didn’t squeak but had sounds. This one grunts and squeaks and my service dog is a happy boy again! It seems well made. The amount of stuffing is just right so that it holds its shape well yet it’s soft enough to grip easily and will even serve as a pillow if need be. This grunting porcupine dog toy is a little on the small side, about as tall as a can of soda. The squeaker and the grunter are very difficult to get any noise out of them; which kind of frustrates the dog. It held up for a while. But my Am staff tore it up to get at the squeak device. My dogs favorite toy. He knows it by name. As he's a chewer with toyd. First off are the little black cloth toes. We have had to go to surgery numerous times to stitch the hedgehog up but he just loves this toy. It's our 3rd one.

Our 2 young Standard Poodles love this brand of hedgehog! We love the cute honking noise. We have bought them in different sizes and always keep an extra around because eventually our dogs will bite a hole in them so we have to destuff them but they even carry them around when they are flat and noiseless! You can wash them in washer on gentle cycle and let air dry but usually they don't "honk" after being put in the washer. ... show more

    • Grunting sound broke after first grunt

I wanted this specifically for the grunt sound for my dog. The grunt sound worked once and then never again. I’ll try to reach out to the seller and see if they can make things right. The toy is obviously still usable and my dog likes it.

This toy quickly had its legs chewed off, but other than that it has held up very well. It's too fat for my Lab to get her mouth around it, so she drags it around by its nose. It would be too big for a small dog, but is a good toy for large dogs that are hardy chewers. I dislike the sound it makes; I guess it's meant to be a hedgehog sound, but it sounds like my dog is strangling. The first time I heard it I thought the dog was throwing up.
