When it comes to dry sacks, these babies have got your back! I mean, they better, considering they're designed to keep your stuff dry. So, let's break down my take on these waterproof wonders. First, the variety pack is like a happy meal for adventurers – it comes with three different sizes: the 2-liter, 4-liter, and 8-liter sacks. It's like a "choose your adventure" novel but with bags. You'll have the perfect bag for your half-day hikes, full-day paddles, and that "I don't know where I'm going but I'm going" weekend getaway. Now, the material – it's soft, flexible, and feels like it's saying, "I'll protect your gear like it's my own." The rip-stop fabric gives me hope that even if I accidentally drag it through a thorn bush, it won't turn into Swiss cheese. As for waterproofing, these sacks surprised me. These things were awesome, and I say were because I absolutely beat the heck out of them over the past several years of me owing them. I bought these for a long distance bike tour across country. They are all beat up now with holes and broken buckles but man oh man have they served their purpose and I have more than gotten my money's worth out of them. The largest size (yellow) was big enough to hold a sleeping bag and small fleece blanket, the middle size (red) were perfect for clothing, first aid kits, etc. The smallest size (blue) were just right for pocket use, I would put my cellphone, wallet, maps, ammo, and important stuff I may need quickly. I would always wrap the important stuff in a ziploc bag or two as well before placing inside these. I flipped over a kayak once with my cellphone and wallet in the little blue one in my side pocket, my first thought was "Oh no," but when I got out of the river and checked everything was bone dry. These have kept my clothing, sleeping gear, fire kit, fishing tackle, journals, etc. etc. etc. out of the elements. And just maybe, on multiple adventures kept me alive. I have completely abused them, they are now filled with holes and tears, and I think I only have one or two out of my original six purchased. But I still use the ones I do have to this day, take them on days hikes, just in case the rain sets in for things like my phone and wallet. Some gear is perfectly fine wet, but for the gear that just has to stay dry, and you're on a budget, then you just have to get these.

Individually any of these bags easily gets 5 stars. they are light, durable, waterproof, and of a simple design that can be used in the pitch black. Just a really well thought-out product. I use them in my camera bag to sort and waterproof various items and they do a superb job. I am downgrading to 4 stars for three reasons: (1) the smaller sizes are excellent but the largest size is not useful for me at all and the ONLY purchase option is the "one of each size" pack. They should be sold individually (2) because I use them to sort various camera equipment, color is extremely important; but, because of size, I use only the smaller two bags, I only have red and blue to identify things. There should be a much wider range of colors in each size. For example, I would like to know which lens I am grabbing and blue, red, black, green, yellow, purple, etc. in each size would be a huge help. (3) there is no distinguishing feature other than color; so, when I am working in very low light, it is impossible to tell them apart. I'm no engineer but it seems like some simple tactile differentiator would be quite each to work in. Selling bags individually and offering a greater number of colors are very, very obvious and simple changes Outdoor Products has missed, leading me to wonder if there is anybody working at this company who actually field tests the products.

First we will start with this: Yes, these are cheap, the seams are taped and not glued, with continued use I fully expect to wear them out. Given the price for 3x bags, what would you expect? -0 Points Second, on the size. I love the reviews that suggest the bags aren't the size they claim to be. The dimensions are clear, the volumes are accurate. I am including pictures of a Kelty Cosmic 20 Degree Sleeping Bag, Regular, Paradise Blue/Twilight fully stuffed into the larger yellow sack. There is plenty of room after you compress it to get 4-5 rolls on the top and close it up. The closed bag is shown next to several items for scale. I suspect that I could have actually fit my Klymit Static V Lightweight Sleeping Pad in there too if I really worked at it. As far as an actual review, these are GREAT for organizing your pack without adding a ton of weight. The "ELITE Ultralight OMG Bros" will scoff at adding extra bags to your pack, but for the rest of us, being able to find your dry socks in the night is priceless. The colors help keep things easy to find, and these bags are plenty waterproof to combat a leaky pack rain-fly or getting left out in a light-to-moderate rain. They may not do great floating in a puddle overnight, but why would you leave them in a puddle? For me, the peace of mind not having to worry about a light pack leak in the rain, or some water intrusion under my tent vestibule is totally worth it!

I bought these to help organize things while on some camping and riding trips. Yes, they're cheap, but they seem to hold up pretty well. I wouldn't use these as an outer bag to strap down to a motorcycle, but for interior organizing, these are great. They're lightweight, and keep moisture out. I rode through the leftovers of the big hurricane last summer, and none of my clothes inside these (which were also inside another heavier dry bag) got wet.

These are a good size and a great price. They are pretty durable as well. I like that they are all different colors so you can distinguish which one is which. I use the yellow for my sleeping bag, the orange for clothes, and the blue for my cook set while backpacking. Cons: They are not really water proof. They are actually only slightly water resistant. If you splash water on them, or if it starts raining, water will bead up and roll off, but only at first. If you leave it in the rain for more than a couple minutes, water will soak through. You also can't really set it in a puddle or anything like that either. I was backpacking while raining. During a break in the rain, I stopped to have lunch on trail. My sleeping bag was in the yellow stuff sack at the bottom of my pack. I set my pack on some wet grass (but it wasn't a puddle or anything). It was there for only about 15 minutes. Water from the wet grass soaked through my pack, through the stuff sack, and soaked about 1/3 of my sleeping bag. (Thankfully I got to camp early enough to let it dry out). Just beware if you are backpacking in rainy and wet conditions, you will want to purchase a more water proof dry bag. Otherwise, these are great for dry conditions, or for things that you don't mind getting wet.

So i was skeptic of this 3 pack of dry sacks for $12. So i researched it, and found a lot of reviews saying theyre great. but reviews mean squat. people from the company can (and often times do) post five star reviews for their products claiming how magnificent they are. So i spotted a few youtube videos, and the results of the water tests truly amazed me. So much so that i bought 2 packs (got them from walmart. Walmart had free shipping at $11 about a week ago. they dont have free shipping anymore, so buy it here) and i did a few tests. I tried each bag full of water (remember, roll the top flap AT LEAST 3 times for waterproof results, and be sure to bring the hard flap down over the soft black flap) and they did not leak at all. like AT ALL. if you applied a good deal of pressure (more than a single hand could muster) it started dripping from the top. But realistically, you wont fill them with water. youll fill them with dry gear. And no matter what i did, dunk it, submerge it for minutes, run water over it, shak it under water, it kept the inside dry (i used toilet paper to test it, as you can easily spot water on it). Point being, for backpacking and light water activites, these are perfect at an unbeatable price. if you are concerned about electronics (humidity still can build up) place them in a sandwich bag inside the drysack. I have yet to try them in the field, but i expect dry results. just another note on use, DO NOT hang them from the buckle. If you hang them from the buckle, the difficult path formed by the rolled flaps that makes water impossible to get in will be compromised, leaving small spaces where water (like rain) can slide in. if you need to hang them (like a bear bag) buy a cheap laundry bag, place them in it, then hang the laundry bag. itll let water out so theres no standing water, and keep it out of reach of any animals.
