Let me tell y’all something, I am a guy and could care LESS about things like candles. My girlfriends buying them all the time and has a slight obsession with candle sales and what not, but I could care less... that is until I ordered this here candle. I got it for my girlfriend and when this thing is lit the year is now 1999 and I’m at my Grandmas house living life to its fullest. It just smells like somethings in the oven and it spreads through the WHOLE house. Not to mention how long it lasts. My goodness, I will always buy this candle and I am excited to see what other scents they have. ... show more

Let me start off by saying that this is a great value compared to larger 6-dollar candles from WalMart, or the 4 dollar small Glade candles. So I'd put them in the middle of the spectrum, between Walmart/Glad and Yankee/ Village/ Slatkin. However I had Higher hopes for this candle, based on the reviews. And because it isn't paraffin based... Maybe I just wanted it to be better. lol The first hour burning, It had a hard time burning evenly. I suspect the handle is the culprit.After that I decided the instructions had no clue! Poured some wax out, fixed wax with a knife, and left the wick somewhat longer. Luckily, I've had my fair share of poorly-made candles. Though to be fair, It had been in a hot UPS truck all day. So who knows. The wax for this candle is super ooey-gooey once warmed. I guess that's a Soy candle characteristic. This was my first. Paraffin candles like Yankee candle are usually easier to fix if tunneling as it stays in place more / denser. But the Yankee candles RARELY need tampering about, unless they're the year-end 10$-sale candles, as those have been sitting for sometime. Often in heat. This candle on the other hand... well, let's just say it is somewhat of a chore. Although I wouldn't write off the scent. It's enticing from afar, but up close it is very waxy smell. For small to medium spaces. Once I managed to even the wax out and get it burning evenly it got to about the last 3rd of the candle before it started putting itself out with it's own wax. I'd light it. And within a few minutes I'd see smoke coming out of it. Had to pour some of the wax into another candle. The handle did help that! haha Ultimately this makes me think the Wick chosen for this particular scent-blend was a poor choice. Because of my having to mess with it and whatnot, my burn-time was greatly reduced. I probably got 70-80 hours out of it. Wouldn't be bad for 10$ If I didn't have to mess with it. I may give this brand another chance as I've got the Winterland "Flavor" in my cart. I'd really like to see this candle shine. Especially since it isn't paraffin-based. Although, I've got to say that the Marshall's near me has large one-wick Yankees (In weird and assorted scents) for 10 - 14$. A steal compared to the retail 27.99. I got me a Red Velvet Cake one, after seeing it on Yankee's website for full price. So Marshall's will probably be my source for candles when I'm not looking for a specific scent. Pros: A. Soy not Paraffin. B. Lovely Smell! Cons: 1. Poor wax mix/ composition 2. Poor container choice (Though I love the Handle!) ... show more

Seriously...BEST candle in the history of candles! Although this company makes the best smelling candles I have ever used...and I have used so many different kinds in search of the RIGHT ones it is epic....the Banana Nut Bread is THE BEST! (Well...so far...I have yet to buy ALL of the Our Own Candle Company scents!) Let me put it this way...I had to blow it out after about a half an hour the first time. Here's why....I was trying to lose a couple pounds and we happened to have banana nut muffins in the house. The candle scent was so absolutely perfect and true to it's name....I was hungry and caving in to the temptation of the muffins! It was a momentary weakness. Muffins are long gone...and I am SO enjoying this and all of my Our Own Candle Company candles! On a rainy day, if you are feeling blue...this candle is the cure! AND...this is the most wonderful company. Have to say that. ONE of the many candles I ordered was not burning properly...called them...no questions asked...shipped me another.
