I’ve been a loyal OtterBox user for years, outfitting every iPhone and iPad I’ve owned with their Defender series cases. They’ve always delivered top-tier rugged protection, and I’ve been completely satisfied with the build quality and — most importantly — their outstanding customer support. I bought this Defender case for my iPad 10th generation about three years ago, and it has held up incredibly well through daily use, drops, and travel. The multi-layer design (hard shell + outer slipcover + port covers) has kept my iPad scratch-free and safe, and the overall protection is still as reliable as day one. The only issue I’ve encountered is with the built-in tilt-adjusting stand mechanism. After three years of regular use (adjusting it frequently for viewing and typing), two of the little plastic nubs that help lock the stand into position finally broke off. It was disappointing, as the stand no longer holds securely in certain angles. That said, OtterBox’s customer service stepped up as they always do. I submitted a warranty claim, and they promptly replaced the entire case at no cost for the product itself — I only paid $12.99 for shipping. No hassle, quick turnaround, and they honored their commitment even after three years. Overall, this is still one of the best rugged cases you can get for the iPad 10th gen. The minor stand wear is something I’ve seen mentioned in a few other reviews over time, but the protection and peace of mind (plus their willingness to replace it) make it well worth it. Highly recommend for anyone who needs serious drop and dirt protection — just be aware the stand components may eventually need that warranty love after heavy, long-term use. Would buy again? This does protect my iPad, very well. It got knocked to the floor, and there was no damage (thankfully). It was pretty easy to install, just follow the directions. I do have a hard time putting the stand, back to the flat position, and I find unplugging to be difficult, too. I usually unplug from the wall, instead. ... show more

I have had many Otterbox Defender series cases, and they have all been consistently high quality. This one is no exception. The description says 10th generation only, but it DOES FIT my iPad A16 (11th gen). The only thing I do not particularly care for with this case is the screen cover/stand. It is rather flimsy and seems more cheaply made than the one for my old iPad. I also do not know what the second cutout in the screen protector to the left of the camera is for, it is kind of annoying because it doesn’t seem to serve a purpose. Other than these things, the case itself looks great, fits my iPad A16 perfectly, and is of high quality. I would recommend this case for superior iPad protection! ... show more

If you have an iPad, I recommend you look at getting an OTTERBOX case for it. I've used OTTERBOXes for many years and on many different phones and tablets and never suffered any damage to any item covered by them. The OTTERBOX fits very well and protects all the points of the iPad; back, front, sides and corners, all while looking nice and not adding hardly any weight to the carry. I've dropped my iPad Pro 12.9" and it hit a hardwood floor and skidded a distance and was none the worse for the event. The case covers have a mechanism that provides the ability to incline the iPad either in landscape or portrait position to allow it to function while watching videos, using it as a monitor while typing on an external keyboard, drawing, etc. Very nice feature. The OTTERBOX might be a bit more than some other cases, but it's highly regarded as one of, if not the best clamshell type protection cover available. Had to cut my sock off because the tape was adhered to it and I couldn’t remove it. Waste of money to order in the summer months. It did not have the same stability as the ones purchased in store.

This is not a good case, it says it has shock absorption but upon receiving I realize I have had defender series in the past and they are useless, I can’t say that about this exact iPad version yet because I haven’t even attached it but the hard plastic is on the inside and a super thin rubber exterior. Defeats the purpose if the side that can protect it is in the exterior not protecting the device. The commuter series they make for phones is the only good product that OtterBox makes. I mistakenly purchased this thinking it was the latter. Commuter series actually offers protection because the rub is directly on the device preventing shock from penetrating. Also this case had a plastic piece attached to the case that isn’t listed in the description, the box instructions also don’t mention this but on the front in small writing it says that it’s a screen shield but otherwise there’s no mention of this. Thinking that it was just a prop to keep the box from caving in I removed it because it was supposed to just be a case not a cover. Now there’s a glue strip around the entire case that makes it unusable because i don’t want glue on my brand new tablet. It’s not a good “screen cover/shield” either. It’s very flimsy and popped right out. The glue is super sticky but the plastic sheet is just that. It doesn’t offer any type of protection. Complete waste of money since I now can’t even put my tablet inside unless i want glue all over it. I’ve been trying to clean it with rubbing alcohol for 25 minutes. ... show more
