  • Most comfortable shoes for the gym
Size: 10.5 Color: Black
I had these since March and these are the best shoes I've ever worn in the gym. Can't believe I went 16 years without ever trying this style of shoe for the gym.

I was using this shoes during the 90's, always have been an excellent shoes for weight training. Special when you training legs give you stability on your hips and avoid injuries. I love them.

  • This will take a couple of minutes...
Size: 9 Color: Grey
...ten years ago I got basically what was the same type from another vendor. Compared with this it was a bit "softer" in wearing and the sole was a bit more flexible. Here the sole is a bit more rigid and about as thin and the shoe itself is more rugged in terms of build. Although my sizing can be all over the place based on the manufacturer I am typically a 9 1/2 D. Based upon the comments here I went down a half size to a 9 because it was stated that they ran large. Based upon the shoe I received I think that was a bit of an exaggeration. The 9 was "snug" and I'm sure it will stretch out a little so I'm ok with that, but I would have also been comfortable with the half size larger. Again this was with the shoe I received. This is meant for the gym and except for the transit from house-to-car-to-gym these are not an "outside" shoe. The thin sole of course creates the possibility of damage to the upper parts of the shoe. These are a machine and lifting shoe and not meant for the treadmill or running outside. I have an excellent pair of Addidas Alpha Bounce that works well for that. This is a very stable shoe and again excellent for the gym. ... show more

  • Comfy, lightweight, needs a better sole.
Size: 12 Color: Black
Could use at least a little more pad on the bottom for jogging. But other than that nice shoe.

  • CHEAPENED BY CHINESE MANUFACTURING ?
Size: 8 Color: Purple
This is the third pair that I have purchased. The first was probably 15 or more years ago. They lasted 14 years by only using them in the gym. I am a martial artist and gym rat so I like the concept of the shoe's design. When I got my second pair about 6 months ago, within one day the entire fabric lining the sole insert peeled off! Duh, OK. So I added in running inserts which I had lying around, and that did the trick even though I should have returned them. Since then no problems esp. since I use these shoes kicking a very big, heavy bag. That's why I decided to get another pair so that I don't destroy my second pair in record time with all the kicking. Well, the third pair, purple color and nice looking, had a malfunction in the first week. The shoestring eyelet, the large plastic piece about half-way up the shoe snapped like a winter branch...while I was lacing the shoe up for Pete's sake! Now, I should return them but it's just more time and expense to do it. So I'm content to keep them since the snapped eyelet doesn't affect performance-which for me is kicking and moving around the gym-no big deal. But it's total BS that they should both have quality issues right out of the box. I at first suspected that it may have been a knockoff but the receipt came from Otomix so not likely. More likely is the s***ty manufacturing process in China where these shoes are made. Once again. Can anyone say Doc Martin? While these are way better than the Chinese version of Doc Martin I am still suspect. Folks, that's two big(ish) quality issues, within the first week on both new pairs of shoes. It bugs me because these shoes are not cheap, and based on my first pair, may not be as durable. They seem to have a quality control issue on some of the lesser parts of the shoe. In other words the sole and uppers seem the same as the older ones. Perhaps even a bit thicker and better? But if it turns out that they cannot endure punishment, what kind of martial arts shoe would they be? Only time will tell if there are deeper, structural issues that will cause these two new pairs to fall apart. But so far only the two issues reported here. They fit as expected, same as before. In fact, the size 8 might be just a bit roomier which is fine with me. ... show more
