Not flattering on my body type

I purchased this A line high low midi cocktail dress to wear to a party, but ended up returning it. There were things I loved about it. The color is beautiful, it seemed good quality, and the price was fantastic. It looked cute out of the bag, but when I tried it on, I realize it's bathing suit material. It is stretchy and clung to all the areas I didn't want it to cling to. Bottom line, if you're comfortable wearing a bathing suit in front of others, you might love this dress.

Swimsuit material
The material is basically swimsuit material and clings to Every.Thing. I was wearing shaping underwear and a slip, and the dress wasn't tight, but the outline of my belly button was still clearly visible. It's a shame because the cut and fit are wonderful! But I can't imagine it looking nice on anyone.
