  • Great womens pack!
Size: One Size Color: Challenger Blue Pattern Name: Backpack
Love this pack! It fit everything I needed for a 2 day back-packing trip with two freeloading children and two dogs! Was really comfortable to wear and I love the streamlined model! Worked really well for me!

  • First backpack for hiking
Size: O/S Color: Multi Pattern Name: Backpack
I just got this for more of a travel bag than hiking, while I might plan a hike or car camping one day. It's pretty big but not so big that I feel weird carrying it, that was a plus for me. However, I'm not sure how it would work for longer than weekend trips or if you were visiting a colder area of the world. I am a bad over-packer so if you are more of a minimalist packer you could probably make it work. If you are looking for your first hiking bag this might be a good choice as you get a lot for your buck and great quality. The biggest reason I chose the Renn 65 is I have the Osprey Daylite+ that I thought I could force myself to pack lighter for weekend bus trips back to visit family. I wasn't totally wrong but I had the Daylight+ stuffed full. I wanted to not destroy the Daylite+ with my trips back and forth so I upgraded to the Renn 65. I also like that you can attach the Daylite+ to the Renn which is actually really easy once you figure out how. If I do end up using hiking packs for trips by air or on longer/overseas trips I would likely get another backpack from Osprey. I'm very happy with Osprey's quality! As for weight, I think my stuff might weigh around 10-15 lbs but it feels more like only the weight of the bag on. I think I would happily walk the 2 miles from the bus station to my apartment back home. I think it would also feel the same if you have 25lb or so if traveling by air. The only thing I wish the Renn had was a bit big side pockets or at least on the women's version. I ended up getting an Osprey Daylite belt pack to use as a purse because my phone, coin purse, and a few purse items wouldn't fit into them. It would have been nice to go without needing a purse while traveling on the bus. Other than that the Renn is a super nice backpack and I think I'll love using it. NOTE: I gave 3 stars for travel as unless you already pack like a hiker it fills up quickly. I did use a 32L compression sack and it does help but because I had two bulky items it seemed to have taken up half the bag. I did pack for the weekend last weekend for my family of 4 and fit all the items I normally did in a duffle bag I use. ... show more

  • First Time Backpacker
Size: O/S Color: Multi Pattern Name: Backpack
Is it the lightest 65l pack out there, probably not. However this pack held up, and offered everything needed for a 4 day thru hike on the Trans Catalina Trail. Fit my 3 liter bladder just fine. The hip pockets were wonderful for easy access to hand sanitizer, chapstick, gum, ect. The bottom compartment was the perfect size for my sleeping pad. The top pocket was great for easy access to snacks, med kit, and toiletries. Comfort wise for hauling all my gear, clothes, food etc the pack rested great on my body. The first day all the weight rested almost entirely on my shoulders. The soreness and pain when I put it on the second day was unbearable until a friend helped me discover the straps on the back that pull the pack closer to your body. Definitely play around with fit/adjustment so the pack rests comfortably. I thought I had explored all the straps but clearly this newbie has a lot to learn still. Used the rain fly on the 3rd day for a brief 40 minute rain. Access to the rain fly is easy, and it goes back in like a breeze. I am very happy with my purchase, have no doubts about the durability and lifespan of the pack. I am sure it will last me many years, looking forward to more adventures! ... show more

  • Love this backpack!
Size: O/S Color: Multi Pattern Name: Backpack
Took this on a trip to Mexico and it was fantastic! I was worried about the size and maybe having to check the bag, but it easily fit in the compartment above the seats, even on the Aeromexico flight using a smaller plane. Super comfortable and adjustable (I'm 5'5" sitting at 115lbs and I was able to adjust the pack to my bod easily). I wasn't a fan of the non-removable frame at first, but I've grown to love it. My partner and I are planning some bigger hikes across Central and South America and I have full confidence this pack will do the job. I typically pack light so if you're a heavy packer, I'm not sure if this backpack would be big enough if you're taking trips over two weeks long. But for me, this was large enough to handle a two week time span. I love the compartment on the very bottom that keeps things separated, if needed. You can take the separator down if you want one big pocket. The compartment at the top is massive and worked well to carry all the things I needed quick access to (sunglasses, chargers, headphones, a few books, etc.,). The zipper to the top compartment is kind of hidden, so I wasn't worried about theft/security and had no issues. I highly recommend this pack for traveling and longer hikes! ... show more

  • Uncomfortable for backpacking
Size: O/S Color: Multi Pattern Name: Backpack
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Osprey backpacks so I finally decided to buy one to try out. The pack has a lot of space but not many pockets if you like to organize your gear. Some of the straps specifically the ones inside the main pocket for the divider are very stiff and difficult to pull. The zippers can’t are stiff and difficult to zip back up with one hand. The worst part about this pack is how uncomfortable it is. The bottom of the pack was digging into my lower back and the shoulder straps were uncomfortable even after I adjusted everything to fit my torso size. If you’re on the smaller side once you have everything adjusted you end up with lots of dangling straps which can get caught on things if you’re on a narrow or overgrown trail. The pack was fairly water resistant, it was lightly rained on and everything inside strayed dry. The pack cover has not been used so I can’t speak to how that holds up in the rain. It was awkward trying to strap my trekking poles to the back so I ended up just carrying them when I normally wouldn’t have. ... show more

  • The shoulder strap hard & rough
Size: One Size Color: Cinder Grey Pattern Name: Backpack
The back spacer is the key reason I selected the bag. All functions seem very nice. Tried and still exploring but working so far. The only surprise is the shoulder strap, very hard material and rough when touching the shoulder, it hurts through the clothes. I had to add pads to help.
