Osprey is simply the best. After years traveling with whatever hand-me-down packs/duffles/bags we'd received from family or friends, we bought a couple of the larger Osprey travel packs (e.g. Farpoint) for a particularly long trip. The quality of the design, materials, and construction spoiled us forever. My wife purchased a smaller backpack which she uses for *everything*. I bought another for my business travel and now (years later) this day-pack to carry my computer/tablet/snacks/book/etc. The quality of this small pack is just as good as all the others. It is the absolute smallest pack I could fit a 17" laptop into. (It doesn't fit it dedicated laptop pocket -- which I think take a 15" -- but that's OK; I keep my tablet the laptop sleeve and my laptop in the main compartment.) Everything feels solid and secure. I rarely use the waist belt and sternum strap, but they're great to have when it is necessary to run 1/2 mile between gates because your inbound flight arrived late. With everything I carry -- including the insanely heavy power brick, my pack weighs 17-ish pounds and after long carries, I sometimes wish for 1/4" more padding on the shoulder straps, but the existing padding is great for shorter trips and long hikes with more reasonable loads. The combination of zipped pockets, the stuff pocket, the adjustability, and other features together with the super-durable material and build? I rank this little one just like our other Osprey packs: 10 out of 10.

I live within 30 miles of Rocky Mountain National Park and have been exploring the trails. I was using a general backpack I had for traveling and ended up with a low back ache. I decided to look for a better designed and better fitting one. I researched on Amazon for ratings and sizes, and ended up with the Osprey Daylite Plus Daypack, Dream Purple, One Size. I wasn't sure about the size; if it would be large enough for my big coat and not too big. It's perfect! The adjustments on the shoulder straps, chest strap and waist strap made it fit me and I didn't get a back ache at all. It held my sandwiches, water bottles and big coat just fine. I couldn't be happier! It has a stiff part against your back and nice loops on the zippers. I wondered if I'd like the thinner waist straps and they were fine. I just adjusted the height of it on my back with the shoulder straps, to make it fit like a glove. Also, I will be using it on airplanes, with my laptop, since I fly about five times a year. Go for it! It's a high quality backpack.

I purchased this while living and working in Yellowstone National Park, and it was great for both work and day hikes. I easily shifted back and forth between the various sets of gear needed, and many items just lived in the backpack all the time. I used it when giving survival demonstrations to guests and employees alike about how to pack a backpack and what was absolutely necessary and what was optional. I have used this pack in all kinds of weather from hot sunny hikes to freezing cold white-outs, and I have also used it to stow survival items in my trunk or front floorboard during long drives. It is a great investment, and I highly recommend it. I will definitely purchase from Osprey again. P.S. I have the Daylite Plus, and my bestie has the Daylite. We both agree that the Daylite Plus is the most practical/useful option of the two.

I got this as my "personal item" when traveling for a 10-day trip. I was able to get everything I needed in this plus my carry-on, so no checked bag fees. It holds a lot, and the various pockets are great for organization. Fit nicely under the seat in front with room for my feet on either side. It was also great for taking whatever gear I needed with me when out and about at my destination. So glad I got this!

The Daylite Plus just right as lightweight, comfortable all-purpose pack for the bus or the road or the trail. We were like a lot of people when Covid hit, looking for something safe to do with the young kids. We found that day hikes were a great way to get some energy out and spend quality time together. But, they're kids. They have limits. So we're talking a couple hours. Or a few hours with a picnic in the middle. This bag has everything we need. The water bottle holders are tall and secure. We can adjust things to get a good fit for my slim wife and myself who is, a little bit larger. Note that we don't use the possibly underwhelming, but removable hip belt because it's not usually loaded real heavy. And the back sweat... it doesn't go away completely, but it's the best I've ever used in the ventilation department (I have not owned a dedicated hiking pack with a real mesh full suspension). I appreciate the assortment of pockets of different sizes and depths to keep things organized. I like the pack so much that when I needed a bag to cart my laptop and crucially, stuff, back and forth to work I got another Daylite Plus. The padded hybrid pocket accommodates the laptop perfectly. This thing is just so, so versatile. If you really want something ultra specialized to a task you may want to look elsewhere, but for my uses the Daylite Plus is absolutely perfect.

This backpack is the perfect size for short day hikes. Very sturdy, well made pack. I love the size, weight and solid construction. Will definitely buy another Osprey pack for longer hikes.

Perfect size for all of my day hike needs. Very comfortable. Weight can easily be distributed when packed properly. I was concerned about the low (waist) strap when I first saw it but after packing the bag for a test run, there were no issues.
