  • Day Hiking Pack Mule...
Size: Medium Color: Rigby Red
C'mon guys, we've all seen it. The yoga pants girl on the trail swinging her arms back and forth only carrying a water bottle talking about how warm it is....then the sweaty guy wheezing behind her trying to keep up as he's weighed down with all the gear in the backpack...which is 80% her stuff that probably won't even be used the entire time you are hiking...That's me, I'm the sweaty guy. So you'd better believe I'm going to spend whatever I have to on a pack that makes my pack mule job bearable. This may be overkill for a normal day hiker that only puts on about 10-20 miles a hike. My last backpack was made for going to school rather than hiking. It sat flat against my back so no air could get in there which made for a pretty gross situation. Every time we took a break and I took it off I dreaded the soggy wet thing getting placed back on me. This pack is much better in that way. It has a nice breathable mesh in the back that allows a pretty decent air flow. My biggest worry now is that with the extra room in this pack my wife might find more useless crap for me to haul around.... ... show more

  • Almost perfect!
Size: Large Color: Abyss Grey
Just returned from a 60 mile, back country Montana trip. Bag was fantastic, comfortable, and breathable. Many adjustments to fine tune fitting. Great storage and organization. Only complaint (which is very common) is the zipper situation, especially on the hip pockets. They are nearly impossible to open and close with one hand, which is frustrating considering these pockets are designed to be accessed with one hand on the go. Other than that, the bag is awesome! ... show more

  • Amazing pack! Quality product!
Size: Medium Color: Rigby Red
My boyfriend LOVES this pack! He tried a few other competitor brands but this one fits best and looks good to top it off. He says the best part is the back of the pack never actually touches your back because of the netted support system. Great because he sweats a lot! Just make sure you buy the correct size! Osprey has a great size chart that you can use and with a little help from a friend and a tape measure, you can determine your ideal pack size for your height/waist. He is 5’10 150lb and the medium is perfect. ... show more

  • Yes, it really is that good.
Size: Medium Color: Abyss Grey
Go read All the reviews from backpacking sites ( not purchasing sites) and you will see hikers telling you how comfortable this pack is. It’s true. I typically roll with my smaller Osprey Exos 38 or 48, but wanted a larger pack. And yeah, just like others say, I can carry a good 10 lbs more in this pack and it will feel the same weight as my others. Weird but true. ... show more

  • osprey has came a long way with this pack
Size: Medium Color: Abyss Grey
I bought the Osprey Atmos back several years ago when they first came out and didn't like it much. It wasn't vert comfortable so I bought a Grant gear crown vic and used it instead. now however I am getting older and in less great shape so I have slowed down greatly. I dont focus in putting the miles behind me any more so I take heavyer loads and walk less miles. I like to fish and hunt and cook on a campfire now. I also take fresh stakes and ribs to grill over a camp fire now so all that adds a lot of weight to a once ultra light backpacking set up. I will have to say that the atmos has came a long way since I bought one when they first came out. i really like this one now especially for heavier loads My granite gear backpack was great for 15 to 20 lbs or so but not so much for 25 to 30 lbs so I will have to say the redesigned Atmos backpacks are very comfortable for that with a lot of bells and whistles I miss out on with an ultralight pack. I highly recommend this pack for heavier loads of 20 to 30 lbs ... show more

  • 1st Time Backpacking And I Loved It!
Size: Large Color: Abyss Grey
As a first time backpacker I was worried a bit about managing to fit all my gear and consequently if I could handle the weight. After a five mile hike (mostly uphill) and one night stay, I can tell you that this bag gave me confidence that I would be OK out in the White Mountain Wilderness of NM. I had all the essential gear (tent, sleeping bag, food, cooking system, water) plus my cold and rain gear and I had some room to spare. I never felt that it was too heavy because of it's anti-gravity system that distributes the weight. I love this pack. Can't wait to go on a multiple day hike! ... show more

  • Best backpack, ever!
Size: Medium Color: Abyss Grey
I’m a 63 year old who loves the outdoors and wanted the best, multi-day/weekend, highly functional and durable backpack within reasonable cost. I’m not doing thru-hikes so a heavier but durable pack was my goal. 2021 brought the new Aether 65 vs the older Atmos 65, both of which were my leading candidates. I settled on the older Atmos 65 because of the very positive YouTube reviews and the fantastic price just recently posted on Amazon in February, 2021....$239.00 brand new! My Atmos came today and to my surprise, it DID come with an included rainfly! Note that rain fly’s do not normally come with the Atmoses? The medium is a 65 liter pack weighing in at 4.56 lbs, so it’s no ultralight. But here’s why I settled on the Atmos 65: 1. Anti-Gravity suspension/harness system - makes it feel like you’re carrying less weight than you actually are. 2. Durable & Flawless construction - heavy duty quality zippers, durable outer material, and overall build (like a tank!) 3. Great pockets & just the right amount of storage - 2 external storage pockets on the front of the pack is a winner! Also, trekking pole and dual ice axe lashings. 4. Dual side pockets are large/deep enough to fit a full-sized, Grayl water filter flask. 5. Removable brain and integral weather flap. 6. Included rain fly & dedicated rain fly pocket. - You can also use this pocket for other item storage while stashing the rain fly somewhere else if you wish. 7. The high vis, neon green interior provides great contrast when looking for items in low-light conditions. 8. Osprey’s Almighty guarantee, lifetime warranty - 2nd to none! Conclusion: Although an older design, it is a proven pack with hundreds of satisfied users. It is a highly durable pack which will no doubt, stand the test of time. This is the best multi-day backpack, ever, imho! ... show more
