  • The Best, Dont even TRY other packs.
Color: Abyss Grey Size: Medium
The best pack, hands down. For those confused, this is the 2018 model. Head to the osprey site, watch the sizing videos and take a look at the charts and measurements. Pick the right size and BUY it already. Pay attention to the in-between size recommendation. Once you get this thing dialed in you will be in heaven. DONT mess around with the cheap packs, get the best and be done! Other reviewers of cheap packs say they will keep up with osprey packs if not better... Pfft, dont make me laugh. The quality and attention to detail is unmatched (see photos for up close detail). Ive done a few simple mods to the pack. (1) Installed strap excess clips, 38mm for hip, 20mm for the rest. I don't like slack hanging down. (2) Wrapped paracord around the carrying handle for more comfort when lifting or moving it. More confident grip on your pack. (see pics) ... show more

  • Indifferent Customer Service - DO NOT BUY DIRECTLY FROM OSPREY
Color: Abyss Grey Size: Large
If there's an issue with this pack and you bought it from a reseller like REI, chances are you're ok. If you bought it directly from Osprey, you're screwed. - the packs are based primarily on torso length, so if you are tall and thin the waist belt will slide down over your hips and you will be carrying all of the weight on your shoulders. Not what you just paid $275 for! - Osprey Customer Service can't get rid of you fast enough. Instead of trying to offer guidance on whether the hip belt is replaceable, adjustable, or if not whether the Longer size frame comes with different sized waistbelts, their initial response was a link to the sizing chart (which I used when I bought the pack) and "If you find out that the pack is not the correct size, you are more than welcome to sell it privately". Why THANKS for your permission! We have 2 other Atmos AG packs in the family that work well. Still trying to determine if this one can be salvaged, ideally by just buying a replacement part. Absolutely zero engagement from Osprey to explore solutions ... show more

  • Well designed, Well built
Color: Unity Blue Size: Medium
I used this backback for 3 days in Nepal, and recently in Eagle rock loop trail (27 miles backpacking). The anti-gravity works great. I didn't feel the hanging load in my shoulders. The shoulder straps are very soft, and doesn't add extra pressure. Doesn't come with the Hydration pack, but I bought separately and fitted in the bag, which was a great decision. The overall quality of the bag is great and definitely recommend to all backpackers. Only complain I have (including my fellow backpackers who mentioned the same issue) is that the main compartment is reachable only from the top. It makes it hard to reach for the stuffs at the bottom of the bag. You will need take out everything and repack. One last thing: the US purchased bags DON'T come with the rain cover, but if you buy from (like my friend did) Europe you get the rain cover (extra $25). ... show more

  • Pretty good backpack got long hiking/camping trips
Color: Abyss Grey Size: Large
This review is for the 53L edition which is the large size for the Atmos AG 50. My favorite feature is the pockets in the hip belt where you can store your snacks, sunblock, chapstick, pocketknife, yo-to, troll doll, etc., for easy access without removing the pack. The anti-gravity system is comfortable though it never successfully lifted me completely off the ground. The mesh back was great and spared me the sweaty back experience. Does NOT come with a rain cover so you need to buy that separately. A generic rain cover is fine unless you need people to see the Osprey logo when you’re hiking in the rain. It’s hard to rate the comfort since all backpacking is a painful reminder that there are perfectly good cars and trucks that will move our possessions to the beach or mountains. But compared to other backpacks I’ve tried, this is as good as it gets. ... show more

  • Carry more weight comfortably for longer distances.
Color: Unity Blue Size: Medium
Can't beat the AG fit and comfort. I can carry loads more comfortably, and for longer distances with this pack compared to some very popular UL packs. Osprey is like no other pack, with it's anti-gravity suspension and ventilation. Some hikes I have to carry up to 7 liters of water, (almost 15 lbs) along with my other gear. After 8 or 9 hours, I'm still going, without regard to my pack load. Try THAT with a dynema pack! Life's too short to be in pain on trail...whether it's a 20 lbs or a 40 lbs, this pack will suspend it properly and allow your legs to do the lifting while your shoulders do little more than stabilize the load. PROs: - Suspension and ventilation are unbeatable. Great features and quality construction Full life-time warranty completely adjustable for a custom fit CONS- Hip belt pocket zippers can be a pain to close. Will not stand up on it's own when loaded...you'll have to lean it against something Straps dangle everywhere...no way to secure the excess webbing. Make sure and get your torso measured. Most people make the mistake of buying a large when they need a medium, and so on. Properly pack your load, adjust the pack and hit the trail. This is a great pack. ... show more

  • Fantastic for 3 day hike
Color: Rigby Red Size: Medium
After reading reviews and talking to friends, went with this bag. Was a little conc tend because the side parts at the hip are kind of stiff and was worried would be annoying after a few hours. Well after hiking 6 hours a day for 2 days, felt the same the last hour as it did the first. No stress on the shoulders. ... show more
