I usually don't feed any commercial dog treats to my dog because they are unhealthy and have unnecessary carbs. Instead, I give him fruits and vegetables and meat. I do feed him Orijen dry kibble, so I decided to try these. I still give these to him in bare moderation... once in a while, because there are so many better foods you can use as dog treats. I suppose these would be convenient treats to use while training or when outside, because carrying fruits and vegetables may be inconvenient. ... show more

    • $20 a pound is $500 per 25lb bag. Just give them the kibble.
The 25lb bag is about $100. It would $500 to buy a bag of this product. Don’t get ripped off. My dog loves the kibble as treats. He doesn’t care if it is heart shaped.

These biscuits seem like good treats. They are heart-shaped, about 1.25" x 1.25" x 0.375". Easy to snap in half for a small dog. They have a pretty strong smell but not too obnoxious. I gave one to my dog. She was hesitant at the first but eventually ate it. I like that they are rich in proteins. The first three ingredients are chicken, turkey and herring. No grain and no meal by-products. They look like baked biscuits but there are no flours or similar baking related stuff in the list. These come in a resealable foil bag. There are some broken pieces but most are whole. Mine has a best before date of about 16 months from now. Made in USA using ingredients from around the world. Overall, these seem good. High in proteins and smell decent. However, it did take some time for my dog to warm up to them. Not sure what made her resistant initially. The price is reasonable for a 8 oz. bag. ... show more

Orijen’s fit & trim crunchy dog treats were gobbled up by Maverick the golden retriever. He was immediately nose into the bag so they must smell good to a dog. Maverick can take or leave a hard treat. He usually will pass but not for these. I love that this brand uses real free run meat and wild caught fish. Many reviews warned about the recipe changes and quality control. So far I have never had a bad experience but I am cautious. These treats are crunchy and Mav made lots of crumbs. He then ate his crumbs. I got them because they are high in protein, but lower in fat and have a lot less calories than most treats. Maverick and his friend Holly love treats but being older pups we are watching calories as it’s hard for a dog to loose weight. The bag has a resealable closure but unfortunately it ripped improperly upon opening and the resealable section detached from the bag. Recommend based on my experience with the brand. ... show more
