Item was better than described. I had to order this to replace the original Suburban brand water heater that was in my travel trailer. This item is better quality than the original. It fit directly into the original open with no issues. I opted out of purchasing the matching door and I had to do some custom work to the original door to make the vent tube fit since it was slightly off center from the original unit. Once everything was installed it worked with no issues. I saved some time installing the controller by splicing the original wires with the new controller to keep it in the same location, otherwise I would have had to figure out how to pull the wire behind the cabinets and walls or have to mount the controller in a different location. ... show more

Way better and cheaper than a tank type replacement

This thing ROCKS! I don’t know why anyone would get a tank type replacement now. This one was $228. I did not like the cost of the door being an additional $85 for a hinged piece of sheet metal but still the total cost is way worth it. My trailer like most does not like to mix so I use only the cold OR hot taps for everything. Since it’s digital and instantly controlled, that actually saves water and is better anyway. I also wish it had ac power but this one and most are twelve volt only. With the water pump and this thing and a few lights all on the batteries at the same time, a dual power option would better. And the hoses did not line up perfectly…. All very small gripes for how awesome this thing I strongly recommend! ... show more

We bought the water heater that goes with the door, only to realize you have to order the door separately. The shipping took a little longer than expected, but other than that the quality is great, the installation of the door to the water heater was very easy and fits exactly how it should!

This unit was easy to install. I had to order flexible hoses for the gas and both water lines, but everything else was supplied. The instructions were complete, accurate and easy to follow. So far, after a short test period, the unit works well. I'm hoping it is "shock proof" because some of the roads we travel are a bit rough. More later, but only if it fails. ... show more

DONT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!

So I had to order a new hot water tank for my RV. I live in my RV, so it was mandatory that I get a new hot water tank as mine was no longer working. I hired a professional to install it, and I ordered the hot water tank from Amazon, however it was sold through a 3 party company. The first one I got was the wrong size so I sent it back and ordered a different one. when I got the correct size my professional installer put it in for me hooked everything up and it literally worked for about two minutes. I contacted the company after my contractor had gone through it and couldn’t find out exactly what was wrong with it. It just was not producing hot water. Because they were a third-party service through Amazon, I had to wait for them to get back to me. It was a very long process and they kept having to contact “their team”whoever that is, to find out what was wrong with it, and how they wanted to proceed. They determined that it was two different things, a motherboard, and some other small part. They suggested they would send the parts and I could have my contractor install them and repair it. I asked them if they were going to pay my installer for the extra time he would have to work on it?! I was not happy with the reply I got!! The answer was no! why should I have to pay my contractor to install parts in a faulty hot water tank, that was literally 5 minutes old!!! After speaking to my contractor, he said well let’s just give it a try and see what happens. after almost a week and a half. I still did not have the parts I kept having to go back-and-forth and back-and-forth with these people. Finally, my contractor was as fed up with them as I was and told me just tell them you’re gonna send it back and they’re gonna pay for it. I’m going to get you a different kind and install it for you. Free of charge because I feel terrible that you haven’t had hot water for going on two weeks now. Well long story short he did just that and I now have hot water with no hassles. No thanks to that company who was unwilling to help me in anyway. They should have replaced it immediately with no questions asked. But instead, I was told because of the warranty on it they could not pay for the installation of the parts. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard as I stated before. It was literally five minutes old. There was no warranty involved. So buyer beware with this company don’t buy with them.!! their customer service is terrible as you can see my installers customer service was fabulous ... show more
