I can't speak to that so much because I wear metal bracelets and have never had a reaction (anodized aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and sterling silver) but I can say that I have a lip piercing that was just 18.5 days old and I was SO tired of clanging my teeth on the 12mm ring the piercer used to allow room for swelling. Well it hadn't swelled in over a week so against EVERYONE's advice, I changed the niobium piercing to this one and I could not be happier. Almost 2 weeks into wearing this one 24x7 now and no reactions, no irritation, and it's quite comfortable for my lip size at 8mm. When I first got it, I was so nervous because it looked too small to fit my nose, but it fit perfectly with a little wiggle room. So much easier to put in vs a stud which is what I had before, but to take it out you have to pull on it a bit which hurt my nose. I can’t believe how helpful the listing was! Where it tells you which size would work best depending on your nostril piercing location. I had to take my jewelry out for years because of work and surgeries…since trying to buy new rings I kept getting the sizing wrong until now . This is exactly what I’ve been looking for diameter wise. Once I get used to this I can up the gage to 16 with the same diameter bc they have almost literally every option and combo possible.
