  • Still really good even though it is an older edition
Format: Hardcover
This edition is perfect for self learning or as a reference.

Format: Hardcover
This is a comprehensive optics book with lots of pictures. People have been critical of Hecht's historical coverage but I don't mind it. I don't really know why this edition sells comparatively less than the first edition. This book addresses a little of nonlinear optics and contemporary optics that other books have failed to do so. ... show more

  • Best Deal
Format: Hardcover
Optics by Hecht is a great book to read. I needed this book for a course in Physical Optics. With little repair ( applying glue to wears), book is in great shape and looks as good as new. This is the best deal in terms of cost compared to new book. I am satisfied with this purchase.

  • The standard for a great price; the physics of optics will not change
Format: Hardcover
The standard for a great price; the physics of optics will not change, and this edition seems just fine (to me) to explain its basis.

  • Four Stars
Format: Hardcover
Old version was useful in class for a reference.

  • classic text and reference for the person who needs optics knowledge and isn't an optics expert (electrical engineers)
Format: Hardcover
classic book - just needed it for a reference - blows Born and Wolf away.
