  • This was worth every penny.
Size: 60-Inch - Amber Turn
I installed this on my 2016 Ram 1500 after my family full of truck owners said it's a very worth while upgrade. I spent some time searching around Amazon and other shops for what light bar I wanted before I decided on this one from OPT7. Before we get into talking about the light bar, just know that I have never done this before and relied completely on YouTube to get me through everything. There are a few reasons I decided to go with this bar, but the main reasons are: 1. Separate color LEDs for brake / reverse / turn signal lights. 2. Turn signal lights aren't uniformly blinking lights, they start in the center and illuminate sequential outward (like some of the newer Mustangs). 3. Looked like a VERY rigid base it was built on (AND IT IS). What you will need / should have: 1. If you're doing the hardware clip installation, it involves putting screws into the exposed metal so you may need a drill to pre-drill holes or to at least have the force to get the include tapping screws into the metal. a. You will need either a Phillips head screw driver or bit for those aforementioned screws. 2. Something to wipe the the dirt and grime off the metal/paint where you'll be installing. Mine came with a packaged wipe, but it was bone dry when I got it out so I had to use a rag anyway. 3. Probably some sort of device you can pull up YouTube videos on. 4. Wire strippers (not necessary, but recommended) 5. Pliers or channel locks of some kind. Installation: Ok so the first thing I needed to do was remove my tailgate. A quick YouTube video later and it's safely off by myself. I'm not a big guy, maybe 5' 10", 165lbs and I could get the tailgate off myself. It's probably smart to just have a second set of hands but to each their own. I ended up going the adhesive route versus the metal clip route. I found it difficult, even with the tailgate off, to get my drill into a good spot to tap the screws in so I just bailed on that idea. As a word of warning: THE ADHESIVE IS SUPER STRONG. Once you tack it to something, it's going to be a bear to move. Luckily, the light bar's base is extremely well built and was able to withstand some serious tugging I had to do on it. The included wipe used to prep for the adhesive tape was bone dry (not sure if that's how it was supposed to be), but I got a dry cloth and just wiped it off really well. I recommend you make some quick measurements (accounting for the fact that the left side has an additional inch for the OPT7 logo) so you can properly center the light bar. Once this is done, I pulled just enough of the adhesive cover off so I could tack the right side to the truck while leaving the rest of the bar free to move around. I also removed a little bit of the left side (leaving the majority of the center intact) so I could lightly tack that side to the truck, take a step back, and visually inspect my line up. If that's good, you can simply just pull the rest of the adhesive's cover off while pressing the light bar to the truck. I initially installed this without tapping into my truck wires (just used the exterior plug), but it was ugly and so I decided to take the wire tap method. Another YouTube video later and figured out how to remove the plug for very easy wire access. OPT7 has a really good video on YouTube for how to go about wiring this up, but it's pretty straight forward. The included wire taps made hooking up to the existing wires a breeze. My only real complaint with this system is at this point. I'm not sure if the pieces of metal in the wire tap have too big of a gap and are unable to cut through to the copper, but I found that I needed to remove a couple of them, expose some of the copper wire on the existing cables, then put the wiretap back on to make it work. Other than that, there were no troubles at all installing this system. The reverse light was largely the same thing, just needed to remove the left brake light, feed up the white wire, and put another wire tap on it. Once that was all done and everything was put back into place, I had my wife start up my truck so I can stand behind it and see if it worked. Sure enough, everything kicked right on and worked flawlessly. The turn signals are very apparent, the brake lights were very bright (probably perfect for regular cars since the existing middle break light is up high), and the reverse lights added a whole new level of clarity at night. Seriously, it's blinding. Overall, this light bar has made a marked improvement to my truck that makes me feel much more visible at night. This is a solid light bar and the price ($89.99 at time of writing) is exactly where it needs to be. I couldn't be more pleased with this and I have no qualms about recommending it to others. ... show more

  • Great Light Bar
Size: 60-Inch - Amber Turn
The OPT7 60" Redline Triple Row LED Tailgate Light Bar is awesome. It’s sturdy and well-made, holding up great against rain, snow, and dirt. The LEDs are super bright even in the sunlight. At night its making my truck way more visible and giving it a sharp look. For an easy installation, I recommend getting the OPT7 Extension Connector. It lets you hook up the light bar without cutting into your truck’s wiring. Overall, it’s a solid, weatherproof light bar that looks great and works perfectly. Definitely worth it for my old truck. Makes it safer and more visible when I am hauling the kids around. ... show more

  • 2018 F150 Nice looking light
Size: 60-Inch - Red Turn
I installed the Redline Triple LED Tailgate Light Bar w/Sequential RED Turn Signal on my F150 (2018). I chose the red turn signal bar versus yellow because my F150 rear turn signals are red and it matches nicely. Installation was straight forward and took 3 hours. I watched two short videos on YouTube and reviewed the wiring diagram on the internet for my F150. I decided to mount the bar with the included clips which did require drilling. I replaced one screw that I broke after I tried to force it into too small of a hole I drilled. I also hard wired the light because I have the backup camera and sensors and did not want to purchase the module. Also, I did not want a plug showing in the trailer hook up. (Plugging into the trailer jack without the module did produce error warnings and erratic lighting but this was expected and is pointed out by OPT7 online and in the instructions. All that goes away with hard wiring which is easy to do.) Hard wiring does not cause any error messages. I removed the tailgate which requires unplugging the camera plug underneath next to the spare tire. I also pulled out both taillights for access to the wiring. Using a diagram for my year 150 off the internet I connected the included wire splicers to the appropriate colored wires on the left side taillight. The included wire connectors were durable and locked securely. I did run my own longer wire from the right-side turn signal underneath and over to the left side taillight. At the left side I ran the light bar connector up into the left tail light and made the connections. The wiring connections tuck nicely in behind the left tail light. All LEDS worked and the brake and turn signals are bright. The running light has a nice glow that is equal in intensity to the stock taillights. The lightbar and taillights illuminate simultaneously, there is no delay as mentioned by other reviewers. These seems well built. The unit is packaged inside a length of PVC pipe which was great as it ensures no damage in delivery. Unfortunately the OPT7 label on the pipe does not peel off, I would have liked to add it to my other stickers of truck accessories. ... show more
