i’ve used this fragrance for 5+ years and i won’t wear anything else. a woman purchased it from my place of employment and i asked her what it smelled like; she said “sexy hippie” and i was sold. it’s well worth the price tag, it lasts all day and i’m constantly getting compliments on it from people who aren’t even within close vicinity to me. it’s very strong which is personally a huge plus.

I love this perfume but the ad on Amazon from this seller said that it had Carnation in it. It Did Not! they say they you can return but then when you get it they say You cannot return it. Also, on Amazon said from Phoenix, AZ - They are not from Arizona! The product does not Contain Carnation! ingredients than I have found in the Old Opium before the new formula Opium by Yves Saint Laurent is a Oriental Spicy fragrance for women. Opium was launched in 1977. Opium was created by Jean Amic and Jean-Louis Sieuzac. Top notes are coriander, plum, citruses, mandarin orange, pepper, jasmine, cloves, west indian bay and bergamot; middle notes are carnation, sandalwood, patchouli, cinnamon, orris root, peach, lily-of-the-valley and rose; base notes are labdanum, tolu balsam, sandalwood, opoponax, musk, coconut, vanilla, benzoin, vetiver, incense, cedar, myrrh, castoreum and amber. Opium is an Oriental-spicy[1] perfume created for fashion brand Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) by perfumer Jean Amic and Jean-Louis Sieuzac of Roure, first marketed in 1977.[2] Its top notes are a mixture of fruit and spices, with mandarin orange,[3] plum, clove, coriander and pepper,[2] as well as bay leaf.[4] Its floral middle notes consist predominantly jasmine, rose and Lily of the Valley,[2] in addition to carnation, cinnamon, peach and orris root.[4] It is underlined by the sweet woody base note containing sandalwood, cedarwood, myrrh, opopanax, labdanum, benzoin and castoreum,[2] in addition to amber, incense, musk, patchouli, tolu and vetiver.[4]

This is the real deal. The perfume sprays on with a smooth,, non alcohol smell. It doesn't need to cure. The perfume has a beautiful scent. It's soft, sexy, smooth woodsy, spicy and sweet. The combination is perfectly balanced to create a unique scent. Opium doesn't smell like any other fragrance. This is a medium sized bottle. The scent lingers for hours. . I think its sort of expensive, but worth it. This seller's price is less expensive than other sites I checked. I appreciate the super fast delivery. Opium has been around for many years. I first smelled it in the eighties This smells the same as it always has.

Opium was one of my go to perfumes for years until they discontinued it. From my understianding they released Black Opium in its place because people had allergic reactions to Opium. Even though I am allergic to a lot perfumes, I never had any allergy issues with this perfume . So happy to have this perfume back in my line up of perfumes.
