I opted for the 30L bag to have the backpack straps and a larger bag and I'm glad I did, the bag can get quite heavy and having the single strap would have made it more difficult to carry everything that fit into the bag. This review is just to compare the 10L and 20L sizes. Photo shows my things packed perfectly in the 10L bag. There was still room on top if I needed to add a couple items of clothing. The 20L is a little wider, not by much but you could fit a lot more on top. The photos with them closed is the top rolled down 3x. You could roll them down a couple more times if you needed either slightly more compact. I decided on the 10L bag with 1 strap for my river rafting/tubing trip.
