  • Perfect house/casual shoe. Caution on slick tile.
Size: 10 Color: Dk Shadow/Dk Shadow
I like a lightweight shoe to wear around the house, but I don't love traditional "slippers" that look silly if you happen to go outside in them, and here in Florida, we don't need the fluffy shearling things they sell for snow states. It can be tough to find a good fit. Had some Rockports that were great that they don't make any more, and then some clunky cloth slip-ons from Vessi that were okay but wore poorly at the sole. I already had a pair of Olukai slip-ons in leather that I love, so I thought I'd try these. Glad I did. LIKES Comfort: These are feather-light shoes. No matter how long they're on, they don't pinch or overheat my feet. No less comfortable than a pair of socks. Perfect for all-day wear in the house. Looks: Olukai has great style, and these shoes look sleek and exude quality. Even the soles look cool. No problem should you be seen by the public wearing the "house shoes." Durability: I hesitated to pay $100 for shoes some people say start to wear quickly because of the mesh cloth upper. I'm only a month in, but they look brand-new. I'm not beating them up walking outside all the time, but I do have them on to fetch the mail, move the garbage cans, etc. They may not last forever, but they are unquestionably well-built and easily tough enough for my intent to mainly wear them indoors NOT SO LIKES Price: Everything's weirdly expensive these days, but brand-name lightweight shoes were already $100 when I bought those Rockports 12 years ago. Wish they cost less, but here we are. Traction: I think these shoes are probably perfect for the sort of sandy or rocky terrain Olukai seems to envision for all of its footwear. But we don't all live on a Hawaiian beach. I have noticed these are not well-suited to the slippery tile on our screen porch when there's some dew or moisture. The Vessi shoes had zig-zag siped soles like deck shoes, and stuck much better to the slick tile. With these I have to be *very* careful when the porch is damp. No such issue on normal sidewalks or any of the tile or wood indoors. CONCLUSION: These are the perfect house/light-duty shoes for me. I hope they hold up for a good long time, but so long as they're good for a year or so, I think I've found my new favorite. FIVE comfy, ultralight stars. ... show more

  • Great house shoe
Size: 14 Color: Dk Shadow/Dk Shadow
Edit February 2024: I purchased these in June 2022, so they lasted me nearly two years before the seam at the front of the toe started to come undone. I would say that's pretty acceptable wear for a pair of shoes I wear every day for 16 hours. The old pair are still pretty comfortable, they wore in nicely becoming more flexible without ever feeling too loose or like they would slip off. The soles start very hard but do soften up over time. The insoles did lose a lot of their shape, but they remain more supportive than being bare foot. Over all I'm satisfied with these as house shoes, and purchased a new pair. Original Review: I've been wearing these as house shoes while working from home. They're comfortable, light, and very breathable. Plus, you can slip them on easily. They are comfortable with or without socks, and walking in them with the back folded down isn't awkward feeling as it is on most slippers. When looking for house shoes, I wanted something I could wear with socks without my feet getting too hot, but that I could also wear without socks and wouldn't soak up a lot of sweat. I also wanted them to be easy to slip on, and not uncomfortable to wear all day. These shoes fit the bill pretty well. They aren't perfect, as others have pointed out the soles are really hard. I haven't had an issue with them being "too loud" but I can see why it bothers others. They also aren't the most grippy. I probably would not recommend these for someone to actually walk around and stand in for a long time, they do run a bit loose (which is good for my use case) so you would probably get blisters if you went for a walk in them. But just around the house, mainly sitting at a desk, they work great. ... show more

  • Insanely comfortable
Size: 12 Color: Dk Shadow/Dk Shadow
These are insanely comfortable casual slip ons. Just as great as the sandals, but you feel like you have an air chilled sock on.

  • Runs small by length. Wide in the middle.
These shoes do not fit big in length. I actually ordered a half size larger and they actually seem almost still short. They are very wide in the arch and my feet move around on the insole quite a bit. I won’t be wearing these past the mailbox. I have had 10+ other pairs over the last 7 years or so but it’s my first pair of these. They have been all over the place with size but after you get a good fit they are very nice. The strangest thing is I get different sizes within identical models. If they seem tight they will break in after a while but expect a blow out in the toe before the soles get used up. I couldn’t imagine wearing this version on some of the adventures I have taken with other models but if you have flat wide feet these are the ones you want. ... show more

  • Good Summer Shoe, But Extended Quality An Issue
Size: 10.5 Color: Dk Shadow/Dk Shadow
These shoes are great! Nice quality, great comfort, and a fashionable style. Much better, in my opinion, when compared to other brands, such as Sanuks, which are of low quality and are not worth the cost. While these are on the expensive side, based on a pair of Olukai flip flops I own, I have no doubt these will last long enough to show a nice ROI. I can wear these all day, walking around, and not feel the need to kick them off as soon as I get home. They aren't too warm either, being made of a fine mesh material. Even traction on wet surfaces is good, so if you wanted these as a pool/beach shoe, they'll fit the bill. Just be forewarned that, as with other Olukai shoes, the arch support is high, so if you have low arches or flat feet, these probably won't be that comfortable for you. I know most reviews say to order one size down, but I have an add-on to the advice. I have a wide foot, and went that route (ordered a 10 instead of my typical 10.5/11). But, I found that doing that left me with a shoe that BARELY fit, to the point that my toes were right up against the tip of the shoe and I had no room on the sides. I returned that pair and ordered a 10.5, which fit much better. It is slightly roomy front to back, but not overly so. With that said, I'd agree that you should probably order a size down if you have a narrow or average-width foot. If you have a wide foot, I'd suggest ordering on the lower end of your sizing if you float between sizes. MAY 2015 UPDATE: I have to ding these shoes for a couple of stars due to some quality issues. I've had them for a little over a year now (wearing them, maybe, a few days per week during the summer months {April - September}), and they are starting to fall apart. The sewed fold-over seam at the edge of the tongue (the fabric that stops the hard mesh material from rubbing the top of your foot) is starting to come off due to shoddy sewing. Also, some of the fabric on the elastic expansion fabric is also starting to rip at the sewed seams. I liked these shoes, and they are comfortable, but I thoroughly expected better quality for the price, especially considering how little I actually wear them compared to my Olukai flip flops (still holding up great 2+ years later). Doesn't look like these will make it through the summer without getting a bit ragged. ... show more
