  • Normally don't use "Extra Virgin" olive oil, but for tastes sake I decided to give it a try.
Flavor Name: Natural
Extra Virgin olive oil has a low smoke point, so most of my olive oil use is in frying. The olive oil I use is made to have a high smoke point so you can pan or stir-fry with it. I typically buy salad dressings pre-made, but since I do like to cook and prepare foods. I thought this would be a good time to try. I picked up some tomatoes and fresh head lettuce a few days ago, and I had parsley, and some fresh and some dried herbs. Most recipes for Italian herb dressing call for all fresh ingredients, but some are harder to keep. I used dried oregano, basil, and thyme, but had fresh lemon, fresh Vidalia onions, and fresh cracked pepper. I used a hard to get and expensive Celtic Sea Salt, and white wine vinegar over distilled white. I mixed up a batch with half cup of this premium extra virgin olive oil and made a simple salad. The salad only has lettuce, vine ripened tomatoes, diced, and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Italian herb dressing made it special, and the oil vinegar herb mix really stood out. That was yesterday for a side salad with dinner. Today for breakfast, I mixed with avocado oil to raise the smoke point, added some unsalted butter, minced onions, and pan fried some hash browns for breakfast. It's lunchtime now so my final use test is to brush a premade pizza crust with this olive oil before adding the tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms and pepperoni. I brush my homemade pizza crusts with olive oil, to prevent a soggy crust it creates a barrier to stop the water-based tomato sauce from soaking in too far. I could really discern the difference from my usual non virgin olive oils. Since this part of the pizza is not fried and it's under the topping, it doesn't get denatured by a low smoke point. The flavor came out nicely. High quality stuff not much more expensive than many grocery brands. Recommended. ... show more

  • 3 EVOO's - They are kind of all the same...
Flavor Name: Variety
So for $40, you're paying about $13.33 per bottle which is honestly a great price in my opinion. The oil is a good quality, has a good punch and freshness to it. I'll say that the use x for y is a bit gimmicky in my opinion. The veggie and the pasta one to me were identical. The meat one almost had a peppery finish in the back of the mouth, but again, none of these appear to contain adjuncts, so unless unless you are an expert in EVOO, I'd prob. just pick up one bottle at a time. I know they say to use them for specific reasons, but I'll say this, when I need EVOO, I'm grabbing the open bottle, no way am I gonna keep 3 open at all times for depending on what exactly I'm cooking. The flavor is great, the value you get is great, and the quality is there for sure. I took off 1 star because when you compare the ingredient labels they are all the same. So if they are all the same, I question what makes one specially made for veggies while the other proteins, etc. ... show more

  • Delicious variety of oils. Fresh tasting, long lasting, excellent quality
Flavor Name: Variety
This olive oil from Otilalia is delicious! I appreciate the variety pack so I'm prepared for any recipe. I do find that different olive oils work better for different recipes or purposes. I prefer a milder oil for most things. However, more robust oils really shine as finishing oils and don't get lost when combined with stronger flavors. I found each oil to taste fresh and have a good consistency. The bottles I received in August, 2023, are labeled to be fresh until August of 2024. Many people like to store their olive oil in the refrigerator to retain quality and nutrients. Just set it out to come to room temp before using. The three bottles arrive in a hefty box for safe travels. Included is a milder variety that's good on pasta. It's almost buttery. The version for vegetables has slightly more flavor and tasted a little peppery to me. The version for meat is more robust and delicious. I used plain bread to dip into the different oils to taste the difference. They were not markedly different, but it's evident they would each shine in their own way when used in recipes or as a finishing oil. Overall I'm pleased with this oil. It's delicious, fresh, and good quality. ... show more

  • Nice olive oil set, but honestly can't tell the difference between the 3 and regular olive oil
Flavor Name: Variety
It is a nice set. My wife has used the veggie one and I did a comparison test between the meat one and a regular bottle of olive oil when cooking 2 chicken breasts. This was definitely not a scientific test but I cooked one in this olive oil designed for use with meat, and one breast in regular olive oil. When done, I split the breasts in half and my wife and I each got a half. I used a pre-mixed blend of seasoning to keep that part consistent. Neither one of us could tell the difference. Both pieces had the same taste. Having said that, they do come in a nice decorative set and would make a nice gift, or as in my house, look nice displayed on the counter beside my stove. I use olive oil cooking pasta and chicken and my wife uses it to cook her veggies (I use butter on the veggies personally) and it's nice having the bottles handy. ... show more

  • A Trio Of Extra Virgin Olive Oils That Can Add A Delicious Finishing Touch To Your Meals
Flavor Name: Variety
Olitalia Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a trio of extra virgin olive oils that can add a delicious finishing touch to your vegetables, meat, and pasta. Each bottle is 16.9fl oz. holding olive oils that differ between one another with slight flavor distinctions. The oils taste fresh and clean while having an intoxicating and inviting aroma. The most robust flavor of the trio is the oil designated for meat since it has a noticeable peppery finish. The oils designated for vegetables and pasta had a fruity and light flavor. I liked the oil designated for meat the best. I used the oils to top a salad, finish a pasta, and also to finish a steak. The oils are made from cold extraction. There are 33 servings per container with each 1 tablespoon serving containing 120 Calories and 14g Total Fat. It is Packed in Italy and the bottles that I received have a best by date of 12 months from the date that I received it. The set is placed in a simple yet sturdy cardboard box which makes the set instantly gift ready. It would be a fantastic gift for a loved one or as a gift for yourself. This is the official olive oil sponsor for Italian chef Lidia Bastianich's PBS television series, Lidia's Kitchen. ... show more
