    • An incredible device!
I put off getting a 3D printer for a very long time, hoping things would settle out and they would "just work out of the box" like most tech things do. I finally pulled the pin and got this one. It is amazing! I can't believe all the things I can make with this. I am a do-it-myself or it doesn't get done and am constantly tinkering with fixing something. I have built many items that I would normally have had to make out of wood or metal by hand and the precision of the prints is so great, that I rarely have to redo anything. A little sanding is usually all it takes to finish off even the most demanding items since I can start so close to what I want. The setup is very simple, since they have it almost all assembled in the box. After putting the few items together, just double-check all the adjustments and you are off and running. I didn't have any problems with any of the adjustments on mine, but others have reported issues with loose tolerances. The bed leveling is very much worth the extra time to get correct. I watched many videos and read a lot before I dove into this and still took a bit to get things reliable on my end. I kept changing things and adjusting to see what difference the changes would make until I am pretty comfortable jumping into a new print with only a few seconds of setup. The CR auto bed leveling system seems to help but don't forget to adjust the Z-level to get the extruder just right on the bed. I am finding that the correct settings here really cut down on other problems that may not even seem to be connected to a non-level bed. The filament-out sensor is vey useful also, not only when a spool actually runs out, but I have used it to pause prints to change colors and it works very well. I have printed a camera mount to run on my Octoprint box to monitor long prints and a tool holder since the drawer is a little difficult to get in and out of with the printer in an enclosure. The enclosure has also helped a lot since the environment can be much more consistent with temps and humidity with everything insulated. It also keeps dust off the machine since we run a wood stove and live in a dusty area. I am very happy with my purchase, and am telling everyone that the time has come to jump on this technology - things have matured to the point of being pretty turn-key at this point. I know the Ender 3 is an entry-level machine, but the S1 Pro has the options I would have eventually bought to make it a decent machine. ... show more

I would give it a 4.5 stars. It is a great machine. It’s impressive how it prints with precision. This is my first 3d printer and after research I choose this one and so glad I did. Now I would give it 4.5 stars because of the table it comes with. It’s a nice design but it is really bad when it comes to adhesion. Tried using glue and other methods. Tried so many projects and wasted so much time. At the end I replaced the table with a glass one. All my problems were solved after changing the table. I also did contact their customer service about some billing issues and they were excellent. No complaints there. ... show more

    • Buyer Beware ... Run-around support... Feel Ripped off
This was purchased as a gift. Out of the box had nothing but problems. 1. The SD card slot would not read card correctly. The card had no click and fit loosely causing the card to not read card or read erratic. When you email support they seem to give you runaround and they dont seem to read the emails you sent them. They sent me a new mother board after 4 emails. I replaced the board only to find more problems. 2. When I could get printer to read the sd card. It would print but then give an AB.Temp error. I chased this down to a faulty bed warming cable and provided a video of me showing bad cable. They ended up sending me the bed cables which would require you to solder the cables to the bed instead of sending me the whole bed assembly. I contacted support numerous times to only be asked the same question which was answered in the emails I already sent, causing me to play the back and forth email game over weeks. Three times when I tried to respond to the emails with the information they asked for like videos, pictures, or copy of receipt it would then say your email has been blocked, causing you to have to start the whole process again. So for a printer that was purchased in January and it now being March I cannot get consistent prints and it is past the window of amazon return. I know these printers can work just hope you get a good one out of the box. I feel I have been very patient but at this point I feel ripped off and given the runaround. ... show more

Before I had the ender 3, and now that I bought this I can say that you need to learn less to start printing things, for example, you don't have to do as much research on how to level the bed because it already comes with something that does it. Also the process of assembling the printer is faster and simpler. Although it has some details, it makes more noise than the ender 3, it vibrates more, and it seems that the wheels of the axis that moves horizontally wear out with the bar. But for everything else, the experience is more pleasant with the S1 pro. ... show more

    • Excellent out of the box, very easy to assemble
This was perfect for me to get started as it has all the upgrades my friend told me about applied already. Direct drive filament, all metal hot end, springs, etc. There isn't much else to do to this to make it better short of getting a better nozzle. Assembly was extremely easy as the rail/bed all came in only a couple of pieces, took only a few screws and maybe 15 mins to put together. The biggest thing to pay attention to out of the box is to calibrate your Z offset, I use the old sheet of paper trick and that works fine. Also pleasantly surprised with the PEI sheet, I didn't know much about it and my friend was recommending glass, but this bed adheres very well without and glue or hairspray, just need to clean it occasionally. I can't really think of any cons with my experience so far, except for since I'm in America so it needed to be on 120v, and is by default 240v and you just need to switch a switch at the back which if there was mention of it in the manual I must have missed it because I didn't realize until I saw the lightbar flickering. Also a larger bed would be nice but for this price I cannot really ask for that and it can print mostly anything I want to at this size anyway! ... show more
