To start, this desk is better than I was expecting. It was roughly $200 and had one review. I took a chance on it and am better for it. I spent over 6 hours trying to find a desk that fit my needs and could support a decent amount of weight. I decided to go with the 63-inch version of this desk with the Vintage look. I have a few pros and cons for this desk, but overall, I love the desk. Pros: -The desk comes in a single box of around 50 pounds which is easy to lift and move around the house. -The packaging was very organized, and they used the box's space very well. -There are friendly directions on the box that tell you how to properly open the box, which makes getting all the parts out very easy without scratching any of the wood panels. -The directions are easy to follow with only a few graphical issues. -The desk is sturdy and looks beautiful. -It is made of quality materials and has a wood print on all sides of the panels. Cons: -The desk's color is darker than in the product photo. -Some graphics in the directions needed to be clearer and show all the necessary details. -I built it as a single person, which took a few hours. I recommend having a second person. -I wish the desk had a little bit more depth as the monitor stand still takes up a third of the desk. -I ran into some issues with bad screws and some screw holes that were too small. Luckily, the set has an over abundance of screws so I could switch the bad ones out. To fix the small screw holes, I added WD-40 to help ease them in. Overall, this desk is definitely an upgrade from my previous one, and I hope it lasts a long time. ... show more

Just for an extra set of hands. I like the raised shelf and the power strip. I would use a surge protected device to plug a computer into, however. I would just use the top power strip for devices that require low power, like phones. I was hoping the drawers would be a little sturdier. They're like a cheaper canvas type material. I also like the side pocket, which uses a similar material. Desk seems to have lots of leg room. Overall, instructions are pretty self explanatory. Be careful about orientation of pieces (if holes are facing up or sideways, or if one part is closer to the left or right, etc. I put the screws in ziplock bags and numbered the bags with a Sharpie so they didn't get mixed up. The media could not be loaded. First of all, I assembled this by myself. It was actually pretty easy. Barely an inconvenience. Definitely recommend having the instruction manual open to the parts inventory page BEFORE ripping open all the baggies the hardware is shipped in. Make sure your counts match what you actually have. My main concern is the monitor shelf. It takes up a lot of usable desktop space. I just have a laptop. It's a tight fit so I'm gonna take the monitor shelf off. My husband hates ikea and anything he has to put together. However, after bracing for the worst, this actually came together quite quickly. I am using it in my classroom and it is roomy, yet doesn't take up a a ton of space. It also is very pretty and has great drawers.
