Easy to assemble since all parts are labeled and the directions let you know for the left side or right side so no help necessary. I placed the rectangle and shelves on the right side. It fits perfectly in the area I wanted to place it and is large enough for my needs. I purchased two under cabinet shelves that slide onto the desk part and the other I added to the one shelf on the right side. This gave me more space for placing papers and other items. It's an alright desk, but you should know two of the spots you're supposed to put screws into don't actually screw into anything. They're just decorative. Also, the screws the packaging instructed me to use don't seem to be long enough for all of the holes on top. Some of them screw in and hold tight just fine, but a few other spots, even when installed correctly, end up not holding the wood down at all. You could wiggle the wood around if you pulled on it from the top, so don't expect everything to hold together as well as it should when moving it. They must have used Photoshop to shrink the keyboard and laptop used in the pic to make the desk appear bigger. The scale is absolutely laughable. It was easy to put together though and well worth the price.
