I love these gloves don’t get me wrong. I had a pair that got stolen so I reordered some! I couldn’t remember what my size was so I measured my hand and used the guide. I was right in the middle of the small so I went for it, they’re super tight and the Velcro barely wraps my whole wrist. All in all they still work amazing and I’m sure they’ll stretch out but I’d size up. I think I was originally a medium. The leather and the rubber may be glued together at the opening. You need to carefully peel them apart so that the opening matches the stitched outline on the underside of the glove If you don't do this, your glove will be loose and you'll abrade your hand, like shown in the picture. Not hazardous, but I bought these gloves to avoid tearing up my hand! Once you get a good fit, they feel so solid in jams! ... show more

The gloves helped me break through on my first crack climb. Prior to getting these gloves, I was unable to finish a crack due to the lack of built up resiliency on the back of my hands. These are a good stepping stone to finishing cracks while building up your crack technique and hand durability.

    • Won't crack climb without these!

I have been crack climbing with these twice a week for a few months at Vedauwoo in Wyoming, which has really rough granite, and there is no sign of wear on the gloves. I have cracked climbed before without gloves, just tape, and I won't ever go back. Taping is such a waste, it takes time to tape up, and the tape never holds as well as I would like. I also love the extra grip and padding these gloves give me. My boyfriend also has a pair and he loves them as well, as do many other climbers that I have bumped into. I hear that the Black Diamond climbing gloves aren't durable at all. ... show more

I've tried most of the crack gloves around and these are the best. Better build quality. Better rubber. The wrist velcro gets tucked under a flap so they don't come off mid-pitch. Just make sure you don't go too small or they will hurt your knuckles. Test by making a fist in them. If there is a lot of pressure on your knuckles they might hurt on multipitch. I'm usually a medium in gloves and I needed a large in these. ... show more

Well made, highly functional. I always scoffed at rubber crack gloves, but I would now argue: a) taping the backs of your hands is functionally similar to using this type of glove b) it is much more eco-friendly to have a reusable pair of crack gloves than it is to use disposable tape with every session (or even every few sessions if you reuse your tape gloves). When in doubt, select a larger size. My hands were on the bottom end of the large size, per the chart, and I bought the large, and they are really tight.
