These are OUTSTANDING for lap swimming. I bought two. Nice snug fit, they keep you a bit warmer, they protect from the sun, and they do not bind anywhere. I previously used loose t-shirt style rash guards for swimming. They got out of place as I swam and they were a substantial drag on my speed. Also, air pockets formed in the arms as they moved, messing up my stroke. These are VERY tight to the skin and do not move, as they should and are tight at the wrists and neck, as they should be. I would STRONGLY recommend going a size (or two) larger than normal as these are a challenge to get on and off. If you have limited arm mobility issues, be careful. Keep the tags on until you have tried these on. Going forward, I will not swim without these "skins"...

I've never had a problem with medium lycra. I've worn them for decades, my wetsuit and wetsuit tops are all medium. But this one i can barely get over my shoulders (i'm surfer), and over my head. I ripped it taking it off after the first use. Otherwise than that the fit once on was fine, and the lycra was thick and good quality and comfortable.

Well I could say without doub that this is by far the best rash guard I've ever bought, the quality, the it feels, how quickly it dries after swimming it's almost perfection, at first when I had it on for the first time I thought it was a lil bit tigh for me, until I took it to the pool, as soon as I got into the water, I just didn't feel it anymore, it felt comfy in my body and well I couldn't just be more happy with my choise, though I would appreciate seeing different colors to pick since by the time of purchasing it, only black was available, I couldn't be more happy and satisfied with my election.

Decent rashie for the price. The material is not super thick but adequate. Seams are all flatloc and comfortable. As far as sizing goes, I think a lot of people don't understand how a rash guard is supposed to fit. It's supposed to be skin tight, but not binding at the arm joints. They're made to go under a wetsuit and be completely smooth on the skin. The sizing chart runs true to size for a proper fit under a suit. If you want to wear this as a sun shirt and have a looser fit, buy one to two sizes bigger. One size bigger will be snug but not too tight, two sizes up should fit more like a t-shirt. Hope this helps you get the fit you want.

I have worn this rashguard at both at the beach on 80+ degree sunny days, and at the lake while paddleboarding for several hours, and I was surprised to find that I have never felt hot because of wearing this shirt. In fact, once it gets a little wet, it actually keeps me cool. The cooling effect it gives you while the water evaporates from its fabric feels similar to standing in in air conditioned room, especially if there's a breeze.. As for sizing, many of the reviews say to order a size up, but after reading through several reviews I saw that nearly everyone who described themselves as "fit" said that the shirt ran true to size. I like to consider myself a fit 5'8, 160 pounds, so I ordered a medium just like I do in t-shirts, and it fits perfectly. It is absolutely skin tight like its painted on, but that's the point of a rashguard! If I were overweight or had a bit of a gut, I could see going one size up, but if you are in shape it fits true to size. I bought this shirt purely for the sun protection, because skin cancer is no joke, and it has quickly become my go-to shirt any time I find myself near water. I'll probably be ordering another in a different color.

The fabric is 87% polyester, 13% spandex. as indicated per the product details. Very disappointed, this is the second O'Neill item described as nylon/spandex fabric that is, in fact, polyester/spandex. Construction quality seems very good, but know that, if you are looking for a nylon/spandex fabric, this is not it. : /

On the size chart, I'm a M. I'm 5'11" and 168lbs. I couldn't even get the M on it was so small. I returned the M and ordered both L and XL thinking that one would work. These are both super tight. Very tight in the body and the L is tight on my arms. The XL is more comfortable, and I contemplated keeping it, but the arms are too long. The item appears very well made and I like the color mix, but for my comfort level, it's way too small in body and arms.

Order your normal t-shirt size. It is meant to fit tightly to do what it is designed to do (anti chafing) I’d say the sun protection is just a bonus. It’s not your typical loose fitting sun shirt. Looser materials promote chafing whereas this shirt is meant to prevent it, mainly in water activities.
