The type of saddle I was looking for was covered in plastic (easily cleaned). We had some of those but they had gotten lost over the years. But these are a good alternative. They are basically super thick pool noodles that you can sit on. I do not know how durable these will be considering that they are pool-noodle material but they will last for a few seasons I suppose. They do work and the leg openings are large, comfortable and great for adults. Children should not use these as they do require a certain amount of weight to use. ... show more

I was looking for something smaller than tubes to take on the boat and these are perfect. I bought 2 and they fit behind the seats, so take up almost no space and they are perfect to sit in the water. Balance took a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it these are like chairs in the water. I'm a little disappointed in these. I bought three (3) of these things because the material looked to be hardier and more durable than the spongey foam types out there. And though these things work well, and we do like them, it seems in a relative short amount of time (2-3 weeks) the colors are beginning to fade, the edges appear to be disintegrating, and they have become permanently curved or bent making a little harder to wedge into places for storage. We never leave our pool toys in the pool when not in use so it's a little disappointing to see how quickly these things have degraded with such little use or exposure. ... show more

I ordered this for 4th of July weekend on the boat. I got the larger one so the weight limit worked for all of us. My husband used it too! It was a little difficult for me to get on in the water but everyone else had no problem. It will keep you floating to waist or chest level depending on your weight. Works great! Very durable yet very light weight. I was very satisfied with it. I had bought a similar item at a pool store a few years ago & paid triple the price, so this was a great deal in my eyes! These X Large saddles were great at the lake. Adults up to 250 lbs used them to bob in the water. It was entertaining to watch the kids try to ride them as it's too buoyant for lighter weight folks -- keeps bucking them off. At least it kept them busy when adults weren't using them. Best way to mount up: leapfrog the bigger end by pushing it under your bum from your front. There is a caution to not jump onto them. I believe that's warranted as they're just rigid enough that I could see repeated jumping from the dock onto them would cause them to break in half. ... show more

I thought the item was going to have more of a soft rubbery feel because those were the only ones I had ever seen. I was not pleased with the way it rubs the inside of your leg. Personally, I think it’s worth the extra money to get the other ones.
