While this isn't going to replace a machine shop vice, I'm mind blown by the quality and craftsmanship of this thing for the money. First off let me tell you why I needed it on a whim. I am in the process of upgrading a little pocket pistol I take with me on long bike rides w/ the family where we're out past dark riding fairly far away from home. I didn't want to send it off for them to do it because as an engineer I like to do everything myself :P One of the parts I needed to get to was under the rear sights which need to be hammered off if you don't have a fancy sight presser. Well you need a vice to really hold the slide and do that. I don't have a full desk vice and my garage is already "mutipurposed" enough for a 2 car garage that I don't have room for a the big table needed to add a quality vice. Enter this little guy. I saw it, bought it and at first had to think where i was going to put it. It came w/ rubber protectors so I felt safe hooking it to a granite table top slab. I put the slide on it and ended up having to hit way harder than I expected lol. This thing didn't budge!!! I cannot think of a single con to give this product. Sure if I had a full tabletop vice I might be more of an expert but for what I needed and likely most other uses I'll need. This worked great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't stay on and the ones for attaching the vise to the bench actually increase slippage. Don't buy this item for the pads. The vise itself is fine but probably overpriced

The Nuovoware vise is an excellent product. It’s very sturdy for a small vise. Easy to clamp to a table. It doesn’t move around while working. I will be using it a lot. I’m very pleased with its performance.

I don't know what I expected for this cheap but it's a lot smaller than I anticipated. It doesn't inspire confidence but it is ok for light projects. Don't buy this expecting to replace your harbor freight or Lowe's big garage vice (no idea what size most normal garage vices are). It is ok for what I needed it for though which was to hold my work piece which 90% of the time is a 6 or 7 pound surplus firearms and it's barely big enough for that application. As long as your expectations are low considering your buying a mini vice off Amazon I think you'll be happy but if your e expecting to death grip something while you hammer away you will be sorely disappointed.
