Description

Evap Foam No Rinse is a high performance, heavy duty detergent, specifically formulated and packaged into a convenient 18-ounce aerosol can. Made with special surfactants and alkaline cleaner, Evap Foam is ideal for use on most coils, but particularly suited for use on cooling or evaporator coils. Able to liquefy dirt, grease, oil and other residues quickly and easily, this coil cleaner is also fortified with corrosion inhibitors, making it safe for use on metals and other materials. The product's fast- breaking, clinging foam is completely self-rinsing on condensate-producing coils. Simply spray Evap Foam on the coil and the condensate produced during cooling will wash the emulsified matter off the coil. The aerosol product is NSF registered for use as a coil cleaner in and around food processing areas. A pleasant lemon scent helps leave the area deodorized after use. • It does work
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I recently used the Nu-Calgon Evap Foam No-Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner to clean my evaporator coil, and I was overall impressed with the product. Here's what I liked: Convenient and Easy to Use: The no-rinse formula is a major plus. I simply turned off the unit, sprayed the foam according to the instructions, and let it work its magic. No need for extensive prep work or messy cleanup, just a quick and convenient process. Effective Cleaning: The foam visibly dissolved dirt, grime, and dust on the coil. After letting it sit for the recommended time, I could see a noticeable difference in the coil's cleanliness. My unit seems to be running more efficiently since the cleaning. Pleasant Scent: While I did choose to follow up with a light rinse using a spray bottle, I appreciate that the product has a mild lemon scent. This is preferable to the harsh chemical odors often associated with cleaners. ... show more

  • Expensive cleaner, not sure if it does the job
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I bought this cleaner to clean the evaporator coil of my house indoor unit. It has not been opened for 36 years and I expected the worst. To my surprise the insides of the coil did not look too bad. I removed light deposits with a stiff brush, then sprayed this product on the fins. The space was very limited for a big 18 oz can, but the spray has a good reach and I was able to cover the fins with foam from the outside. Waited about 15-20 minutes and rinsed it with water from a small spray bottle. The collected water did not look too dirty. I could probably go without this cleaner with the same effect. ... show more

  • Easy to use and my 8 year old condenser coils look like new again.
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. The "N" shaped condenser coils in my 8 year old Bryant furnace / HVAC unit seemed to be relatively clean as shown in the "before" video that I uploaded. Except for some built up dust and debris in the corner of the top coils. I still wanted to clean the coils since I already had the covers off. The spray was easy to use and the can works well at an angle. I allowed the foam to work for about 15 minutes and just about all of the debris dripped away. Even though this is a "no rinse" cleaner, I still used a water bottle sprayer filled with distilled water to rinse off the coils. Be sure to wear gloves, protective eye wear and a mask. This might have a very pleasant scent, but you still shouldn't be breathing it in. If you have a Bryant furnace, the outer cover is held in place by four 5/16" screws. They might be hidden under some caulk / sealant that you have to scrape off. The inner "A" shaped coil covers are also held in place by 5/16" screws. Don't forget to turn off the A/C system, unplug the furnace and/or turn off the circuit breaker before you open up the unit. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I could have just used half of the can, but I used the entire can just to make sure every inch of the "N" coil was sparkling clean. I don't think I'll need to do this procedure again for at least a few years since our A/C filters are ceiling mounted and I change the two filters every month. ... show more

  • This stuff works great
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
My HVAC A/C had a stale smell after not being used during the winter months. I sprayed this on my evaporator coils, being sure to wear eye protection and a N95 mask. I let it sit for 5-10 minutes and rinsed it off with a water sprayer (you could also let the A/C condensate rinse it off). It has a very pleasant lemon scent. The stale smell was completely gone. I am very pleased with the effectiveness of this product. ... show more

  • Excellent product
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I had recently been looking around for a HVAC company to come out and perform seasonal maintenance on our unit to make sure we are ready for spring/summer. I discovered that what most companies charge to clean the evaporator coils is a pretty penny, so I took it up on myself to do some research. I watch some really helpful YouTube videos to get prepared for the feat and that's when I stumbled upon this product. I was a little suspicious at first because the instructions on the can seemed way too simple for the type of project I thought I was getting into. But alas, here we are, all finished with the cleaning and it was as simple as stated on the can. Remove any chunky, icky debris on the coils, spray this product generously, and then wait until it foams and evaporates. There wasn't much condensation on the coils at the time of cleaning, so I used a spray bottle with some lukewarm water to help give them a rinse. Highly recommend if you're looking to do the work yourself and save a lot of money in the process. ... show more

  • its ok
Size: 18 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The Nu-Calgon 4171-75 Evap Foam No Rinse Evaporator Coil Cleaner is a product that claims to clean and deodorize evaporator coils without rinsing. The product comes in a spray can and is easy to apply. However, the product has some drawbacks that prevent it from getting a higher rating. First, the product has a strong chemical smell that lingers for hours after use. Second, the product does not remove all the dirt and dust from the coils, leaving some residue behind. Third, the product may damage some types of coils, such as aluminum or copper, if used too frequently or in high concentrations. Therefore, I give this product a 3/5 rating. It is effective for occasional use, but not for regular maintenance or deep cleaning. ... show more
