These hiking boots are rugged, well-built, waterproof, and yet surprisingly comfortable. Depending on the shoe, my feet are size 10 or 10.5 and a little on the wide side -- I ordered the 10.5, which fits well (although the toe box might be a tiny bit too snug -- I haven't had a chance to try these on a long hike yet). There's lots of cushioning inside the shoe, so no rough areas that might cause irritation on a long hike. Also, when flexing at the toe, there's very little impingement on the dorsal forefoot. The tread is sure-footed, and the overall build quality seems quite good (although I've seen other reviews mentioning that the shoelace brackets might be prone to breaking off, which happened to an older pair of Nike ACG boots I had). The fact that these are waterproof is a big bonus, especially considering the price -- waterproof boots from bigger names will almost always run >$100. The finish on the leather (and the fact that it's generally a smooth surface, without any fancy patterns) should allow it to be easily cleaned as well.

I got these in the dark brown, size 13, and they fit perfectly. Often in shoes I'll wear a 12 but according to the provided size chart my size for these boots is 13. They're very comfortable to wear, easy to lace. I tested the water protection by stepping into my pool with the boots fully laced and tied, with the water level up to the fourth eye which is about 5+ inches submerged. No water got into the boots at all. I wore the boots for a 3 mile walk (about 45 minutes of continuous walking) and they felt great, very comfortable for the entire walk, nothing on the inside oddly rubbing or leading to the beginning of a blister. I also wore just regular sport socks and not wool hiking socks. Quality wise I'd compare these to my old HiTec boots back when they were real leather, good quality boots in the middle price range. I got these boots to wear while working on my property (walking through fields, mowing, splitting wood, etc) and I think they'll do a fine job of providing protection, comfort and warmth in cooler months. I do enjoy going for long hikes (Smoky Mountains, Appalachian Trail) and for that I've got excellent high quality hiking boots. Overall, these are decent quality boots. They seem to be well made and I'm hoping I'll get a lot use out of them.

These are the most comfortable winter/work/hiking boots I've ever owned! I sized down a bit, I typically wear an 11.5 and I got an 11 which fits great. After first putting these on I was immediately impressed by how comfortable and light they feel. I got these to replace my old winter/snow boots, but I can see using these for certain hiking trips and outdoor adventures. The lacing is simple and the hooks allow the laces so slide open and tighten smoothly. I was surprised how easy it was to tighten and tie these. These boots are also stylish! I would wear these out without feeling too clunky and they go well with jeans and look good. They aren't overly branded and have a nice simple look which I prefer. I was a bit skeptical since these are priced well for a good quality boot, and I'm pleasantly surprised, well worth the price for a pair of quality waterproof versatile boots.

I have narrow feet but these boots were a firm fit even for me. They did give a bit so it was not painful. A hiking boot should have a firm fit - but if you have wide feet I would avoid this boot. The problem I had with it is that it did not give proper lateral support. A must for hiking. It really feels like a high top sneaker masquerading as a hiking boot. If you tend to just go for long walks on the flat, this would really be fine. But for anything more strenuous, this just isn't up to the task.
