  • So far I'm very happy with these boots (with 1 year review)
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black
Let's get one thing straight right from the beginning. There are NOT high quality boots. They are cheaply made, but that's ok because at $60 they're cheaply priced. I knew what I paid for these, and that set the bar for my expectations: I'm not judging these boots to the same standard that I use for my $200 work boots that I buy locally. Ok, now for my first impressions (I will update this review in a couple months): Construction is 99% glued, not stitched - expected for an inexpensive boot. I normally wear a 12 wide, and that's what I ordered. These fit really nicely right out of the box. I mean, *really* nicely. They fit like boots that have been worn in for a week first time I put them on. That's a really big plus for me because on most boots (regardless of price) they just aren't wide enough and squeeze the balls of my feet until the leather stretches. The support is pretty good, though I replaced the foam rubber insole with a better one right away. This isn't because of any problem with the originals, I do that with every shoe I buy. Arount the ankles they are comfortable and supportive as you'd expect from an 8" boot and don't show any manufacturing defects that could dig into the skin or anything, so again, high marks there for a boot at this price point. The lowers have a reasonable tread, and after one light shift at work, I didn't have any problems with traction or slipping. They are not the cheap 'dense foam rubber' that some boot bottoms are made with, they feel like 'real' rubber, if that makes any sense. Again, pretty good for a $60 pair of boots. The side zipper has functioned well so far, but it feels kinda light duty. Gut feel, I think this will be the first thing to go, but there are no problems with them right now, so we'll see. Under the zipper is a web of light pleather material, I assume to help with water resistance. I though it would dig in and be uncomfortable once I tightened the laces, it it has actually been fine. So once again, very good for an inexpensive boot. So overall, I give these boots very high marks. I'm really happy with the fit and function after a day and a half. Five stars. I will edit this review if these boots fail or have any significant issues within six months, I think that's a fair life expectancy for them. If thay last longer than that I'de consider it icing on the cake, and I'd probably buy them again if they do. Edit one year later: Ok, so bottom line is that these boots need replacing. But for me that's not bad. I destroy all my work boots in about a year or so. But here's the important part... THEY AREN'T FALLING APART. Don't laugh... I've had some very expensive (comparatively) boots come out of a year's use in much worse shape. The leather usually seperates from the bottom near my little toe but these boots are still holding tight!. The side zipper that I though would go first is still going strong and the pleather flap behind the zipper is still fine. The tread has held up...hmmmmm... moderately well, there's still good tread left, but it has worn to be sure. They don't look so hot anymore, they're streatched and pulled, have some wrinkles in the leather, but compared to most boots after 1 year on my feet, these are doing great. 100% I will be buying these again; but maybe I can get another month or two out of them... ... show more

  • Good Fit!
Size: 10.5 Color: Black-a
This product is a great fit, for everyday field environment. I am an active 15 year law enforcement veteran, and for the first time ever I didn't have to spend over $150 for a decent pair of boots. The shoe is light weight, and has great arch support and soul comfortability. And the side zipper comes in great when taking your shoe off and on. It looks great with my uniform, and I've been asked if they were the five people...🤣 If you are on a budget such as myself, I recommend this product 100%. This is only week one since I have been wearing them. I'll give an update after 30 days. Great job team, and I will be recommending you to the rest of my partners! 💯 ... show more

Former Active Duty stationed at Ft Campbell for 5 1/2 years/1 year tour in Iraq from 03-04. so I am comparing these to the original desert boots issues to us during Operation Iraqi Freedom. and so far I like these boots alot. I am a 9 1/2 and these fit perfect. and are not bad in comfort. will see how long they hold up to wear and tear but they feel decently made. ... show more

  • Excellent Hiking Boot
Size: 13 Color: Sand-a
Excellent hiking boots. Put some Shoe Goo on all the threads when they are new for protection, and wear a thick sock. I hike in these boots a couple times a week and I'm impressed with the comfort and durability. Keep up the good work NORTIV !

  • They broke after a few times of light wear
Size: 13 Color: Black
I bought these for my husband as a comfortable boot to wear to town or a more formal event. I likes to wear boots every where and in every season in case something comes up, like car trouble. I didn't expect him to wear these often or for extended periods of time. When he first looked at the boot he said he didn't think he'd be able to wear them for long without them being uncomfortable. I believe that, I wouldn't call these hiking boots. He said although they looked water proof the mesh areas would probably let some water in so you can't step in puddles. So far he has worn them in cooler weather and hasn't said his feet were cold. My husband was satisfied with them until they broke. He didn't wear them often or for long as I had mentioned but the string pulled out of the boot. He was pretty disappointed and wanted them returned but since he had worn them a couple times we couldn't. I am pretty sure he only wore them, literally, a couple times. He still uses them since they have the zipper on the side so tightening or loosening them isn't as important. But he definitely can't wear them for long now, even if he wanted to. I am glad we got them on sale because they were not worth the money. I personally think it would be worth investing in good quality boots, not these. ... show more

  • Good quality for the price
Size: 10.5 Color: Sand
These are some of the most light weight and comfortable boots I've have. This is my second pair. The first lasted me 8 months before the soles cracked and I ordered another right after noticing. I'm hard on boots so that was super impressive, especially giving the price and comfort of these.

  • Nice Boot
Size: 11 Color: Brown
I was a real fan of the Response Gear brand that Nortiv appears to have replaced. My first set of RGs latest 15 years of pretty heavy use. The Nortivs are definitely an improvement over the RGs. Very comfortable with a very rapid break in. The side zipper work has been redesigned for a true lace up and forget it designed. Soles are a softer rubber that doesn't last as long as harder soles, but I will take that over having no traction on wet or loose surfaces any day of the week. Time will tell on the durability. The later versions of the RGs went down in quality since that first pair so I'm hoping the Nortiv improvements mean good durability also. ... show more
