This stand is an absolute joy! Unwrapping the package feels luxurious as it should at this price point. It has a good - kind of heavier weight - it is NOT heavy per se but the material has a solid weight to it which makes it feel valuable and it looks as if it was designed by apple itself. It works right out of the box and does what it promises to do. When there is not phone docked on it - it looks very minimalistic and elegant disappearing on my desk. Although the metal part is somewhat very dark matt grey instead of all black from up close it is hard to tell a difference when sitting right next to the LG Ultra Fine 5K Display stand that Apple promotes and sells in their stores. The bottom of the stand has a rubber ring so it won't scratch your desks surface which i appreciate a lot. I will have to say that it takes one second to start charging when placed on the dock with the original iPhone 12 pro max leather cover - so for impatient folks - give it a second to make that connection. When putting the QuadLock cover on the phone it takes quite a bit longer to establish the connection and sometimes a slight adjustment in position is necessary. That being said - the QuadLock cover is extremely thick and keeps the actual phone quite "far" away from the charging coils. The design was intended to make it work with slim protective covers and cases which makes sense as the power needs to overcome a distance wirelessly. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and product! It is quite pricey but assuming they won't be selling those in the same quantity as apple is selling iPhones - the margin needs to be higher to cover engineering, development and production cost - my guess.     • Looks and Function.
I appreciate standing chargers to have on my desk. I don't like something I have to look at that doesn't look nice. It fits right into my setup nicely. It looks nice even when I'm not using it. Also, instead of a bright LED, there's a faint white LED. It's a professional looking, clean design that works. I welcome it on my desk where I've made a conscious effort to push everything that's not a mouse and keyboard into a drawer. Here's a side benefit: If you have USB-C wireless devices on your desk... A logitech keyboard and mouse, for example, you can charge them using the wireless cable. Update: It likes to blink and doesn't charge while the LED blinks. I've tried to disconnect and reconnect it but it still doesn't work. ... show more
