  • Worth the price
Style: Pressing Iron with glue
Worked fairly well for what I needed. Very easy to use. Great for smaller jobs when a regular iron is just too big. Worth the price

  • Disappointing waste of money
Style: Pressing Iron with glue
There are numerous issues with this item, from its shipping to its utility. 1. Ordered with 2 other items, but other 2 arrived within 5 days of ordering while this item took 20 days to ship. Finally arrived 22 days after ordering with no apparent explanation for the delay. 2. Heating wand needs to be plugged in for a few minutes to heat up, then *remain* plugged in during use to maintain that heat. Its use is thereby limited to within about 3 ft of an outlet due to the length of its power cord. 3. Be aware that the heating element is very effective to the point that it managed to damage the surface treatment of a wood dining room table through the provided paper sheet and dress we attempted to hem up. Moving over to quartz countertops prevented further damage. 4. Of course, we expected the marketing videos to exaggerate how easy and quick this product works, but the actual ease of use and timing of the application process was quite inconsistent with their marketing. The powder does not spread to any significant degree upon heating, so you need to completely cover the surface area of the cloth you want to "stitch." Missing any small area will be noticeable as a discrepancy in the final result. This would be in addition to the residue left on the cloth by heating the provided "wax paper" as instructed. This residue is exacerbated by the instructions to heat each section of cloth for 30 seconds and "keep going until done." In this time, both the powder and wax paper are melting in each section. With these issues, we are not confident in this solution surviving even one cycle through the wash before needing another application to reinforce the last one, a convenient way to encourage continued purchasing of the powder. Instead, we will write off this experiment as a lesson learned about shortcuts: They seldom work out as you expect. Avoid this product as a waste of time and money. ... show more

  • It Works!!
Style: Pressing Iron with glue
I used it on the cloth upholstery of my classic automobile that had four slight tears due to wear. Following the instructions, I added the powder, closed the gap between the fabric, placed the wax paper over the powder and applied the Teflon heat device for 30+ seconds to each area. I waited the appropriate 4 minutes before removing the wax paper which was the only issue I had. The powder worked well and the tears were sealed and repaired. The issue is that a good portion of the wax paper stuck to the sealed powder which was not a deal breaker and could have resulted from my leaving the heat on too long. I'm confident that through wear, the wax paper will eventually come off. All I can say is that I was greatly pleased with the results. ... show more

  • Easily cut, hem and hang curtains.
Style: Pressing Iron with glue
I shortened my Dining Room curtains over a radiator cover. It was easy but I didn't cut them short enough the first time. (Measure twice, cut once..something, something). And add the hem length to your measurements. I only needed to take them off the rod, reheat with the wand, adjust and reheat them with the wand to rehang them correctly above the radiator cover. I used newspaper underneath the curtains while heating them. Towels probably would have worked as well. Toss the paper in the trash as it'll be dusty. Just vac up the dust afterwards. This guy can't sew to save my life. It was easy. ... show more
