This magnet holds pretty good. One time I had my hat hanging in the airport and someone brushed too close it did come off but at least the hat didn't rip from having a metal clasp on it. The rest of the trip it did hold up even when kinda windy weather. My husband even used for his big straw hat and it did pretty good.

Without a doubt, the reason for the price difference compared to similar items is: the quality of the magnets. This is not something you want to cheap out on, it’s the main component of the clip! If you buy the other ones, which are also available at discount stores, you run the risk of losing whatever you’re trying to hold on to in the first place. Saving a few bucks is not worth it in this case, this is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for.” The style is simple and elegant (no bling or ornamentation), matches with most bags & purses.

Not sure why I hesitated to buy this for so long but I’m glad I finally did! The magnet has a very strong grip and perfect for straw hats and caps. It even grips my wool flatcaps as well. I can’t speak for thicker hats but this fits my needs perfectly. Bring on the sunny days!

Got these for my wife and they'er awesome! Hat clip is very strong! And that clip is great, and seems very versatile in that it simply isn't for use on the edge of a table. It seems as though it'll work best when the bottom of the clip and purse strap will fit under a table ledge, but playing around it seems as though it'll work well on other applications just as the ad pics show
