I purchased these shoes for the purpose of running long distances. At the time of purchasing, I was almost at the end of training for a half-marathon, so I was putting about 15-20 miles of just running on them a week. I had purchased a different pair of shoes before starting the program and they were still in good condition, but I wanted to buy a second pair to start breaking in for later on. I’m always super picky about my running shoes and they have to fit perfectly. Running in these shoes were wonderful! They are light, so very comfortable to run longer distances. I was a little hesitant about the many flexible bottom sections holding up and lasting because I have had the Nike Free Run 5.0 2015 and a few of the sections got worn down while one of the sections next to it wouldn’t be as worn down. This caused the shoe to be uneven and made me have some hip pain. But, so far these shoes have held up much better than those. I actually really love the flexibility of the bottom. I would say my only complaint with these shoes are that they seem a little too wide. When I compare them to my 3 other running shoes, it is noticeably wider. I like my shoes to be a little snug while I run, so I just have to tighten the laces, which makes the laces really long. Overall, the Nike Free Run 5.0 2016 is one of the best shoes I’ve had. They have a lot of stability and support for running. They also look nice for just wearing out-and-about and I’ve received many compliments. I prefer to run in my Nike Flex Experience Run 5 for my longer (6+ runs) and these shoes for shorter or faster runs.

I normally don’t write reviews but I had to with this purchase. Calling all overly analytical people or hesitant online shoppers! Hopefully this review helps you whether you are buying these for yourself or as a gift. I got the black version. The sneaker quality is fantastic. It’s not flimsy but it is comfortable and very lightweight. Silver trim is made of perfect. I’m a 10.5 in tennis/athletic sneakers. These fit like a sneakers - not to narrow and length-wise they run larger size if you want. From heel to the tip of my big toe is about 10.5 inches long for reference. So if you know your Adidas or Puma or similar athletic shoe size, I would go down either a half size or a full size.

I purchased these for running, which Nike is my go to for this, especially ones designed for a little bounce. These are stiff, tight on the foot & have no bounce at all. Like walking with stiff plastic boards on the bottom of my feet. Couldn't even get a full mile in them. So obviously terrible for running but they were cheaper so I should've known... will never purchase that type again.

I couldn't find the Nike Shox I prefer so I tried these & I love them. I walk miles every day & don't even know I'm wearing them. They're lightweight & as comfortable as the Shox but bend more easily with foot movement. They breathe well so my feet don't get sweaty. The pink on black is bright & tight. Only thing I don't like is the price but it's worth it for comfort.

I'm a CNA and always running and I love the comfort and support I get from these shoes. The only dislike is they slip real bad on wet floors . And that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
