Ages ago I found a pair of hiking boots made by Nike. They were on a clearance rack and felt good so I bought them. Wow! Compared to my other hikers and most shoes I had owned they were amazing! Soft, tough and absolutely no break in time. I could play soccer in them with my students or waterproof them to hit the mountain trails and they lasted years! Eventually I wore the tread right off. I still wish I could get them resoled! I wanted to replace them but could never find any hikers from Nike, until I found these. They are a little stiffer starting out than my old favorites, but my first day with them I went out with our scout group. We walked several miles with no blistering or hot spots. I was not used to shoes that went over my ankles anymore but these did not cause any issues there either. They were more than I usually spend for shoes, but if they will be anything like my old faves it will be worth it! Update 2-9-2017 I have had these for well over two years now. I wear them nearly every day for work and have used them many times on family and scout backpacking trips. They are still watertight and as comfortable as ever. I have even come home from a desert trip, wiped them down and hit them with some black polish and they have served me to go to Sunday meetings. These boots are comfortable. When you first get them the top of the boots around the ankle can be pretty rough if tied too tight before they get broken in. They add a good 1 to 2 inches to your height. I delivered in these boots for UPS during peak season 2015, they are comfortable, easy to move in, feet wont get tired as quickly or at all. don't step in any puddles or let snow melt on top of the boot by the laces. your feet will get wet. These lace all the way up, so you have to untie and retie the boots. not that big of a deal, but i was used to boots with either a) a zipper on the side or b) the hooks on the sides to where you can pull the tied laces out and just relace them that way. not sure what else to say. ... show more
