This model shoe has been around for a long time. Years ago, when the sale price went up to the regular price (33% price increase), I stopped buying them. With the temporary 25% discount, its a good value. They are substantial, have a good tread, and offer cushioning while walking. Years ago, the bright white was the style. Now it stands out. Nothing like a fresh/new pair of sneakers. This is my second pair of Air Monarchs. Yes, after time they do start to squeak. Easy remedy…remove the inner sole and apply baby powder. Squeak stops. I have been buying these Nike Air Monarch IV's [both the white and black version] for as long as they have been out in the market. I love how Very comfortable they are, and can be worn to the gym, hiking and every other casual setting there is. So if you are looking for a nice cushion sole with good arch support, these shoes are for you. They do wear pretty well. It takes me a very long time until I start to rip the leather at the sole, but that is from doing heavy duty yard work, and other extenuating circumstances these shoes would go through. That's what I keep buying them, and will continue to going forward until if/when Nike would discontinue them. ... show more
