I bought these carpet squares to do some cat hexagons I built for our wall. I wanted the top and inside bottoms to have carpet for the cats to lay on. This carpet worked great, and the self-adhesive backing made installing it a breeze. The carpet is tight enough I was actually able to cut these to size using a paper shear for nice clean cuts. I installed in two different rooms and the adhesive was completely different in both orders. One the backing was falling off and the adhesive wasn't as strong and the other the adhesive seemed great but was hard to even tear off the backing but I'd prefer better adhesion. It says to install on subfloor, unfortunately mine is plywood and the adhesion wasn't that great. In the second room I painted with Killz primer and it went much better. I installed following horizontal lines and you can see some variations in the carpet tile but I desperately needed a fast solution to pull out some old and stained carpet in the house I recently purchased. In a cabin this will do well until I decide to install laminate or thicker carpet. It would be good for basements, rec rooms but I'd go with something thicker for a living room. For the price it can't be beat. You do need to get into the flow of installing to get it to look seamless. And follow the directions and look up YouTube videos on finding the centre of the room with a chalk line. It was a bit confusing to me but I eventually figured it out. The first room I was in a rush and just started at one wall and the results were okay but imperfect and it takes some practice so I would recommend practicing first in a closet or area that isn't high traffic until you get the hang of it. ... show more

I bought these to place on both sides of some thresholds that my 3 legged old Yorkie keeps falling down hard. The transition from one floor to another involves a 1 or 2 inch step up and he falls and hits his head. These are great, stick great, cheap and give his nails/feet something to help him up across the thresholds in this old house. Buying more where I can use them to benefit old doggies. ... show more

On a whim, I made my older cat a ramp so he could get up to the counter where we feed him (we have dogs, so he needs a private place to eat). The ramp didn't turn out as planned and I don't think our cat has used it once, but the stick-on carpeting I used to add traction went on very well and looks quite good. It was very easy to stick on and then trim with a utility knife. This is one of the less expensive carpet tiles and it seems perfect for projects like this. I ordered 13 boxes of tiles and they came in 4 different shipping boxes. Shipping box 1 worked great...peel stick...going great! Then I got to the 2nd and 3rd shipping boxes which contained 7 boxes of tiles and EVERY single tile in those 8 boxes the glue pulled off the carpet tile when I peeled the paper off. There was insufficient glue left on the tiles for them to be used. I'm now in the middle of laying tiles and don't want to quit so I ran to the hardware store and purchased s cans of Gorilla glue spray adhesive at a cost of about $30 so I can finish the job. The job of peeling off the paper became very messy as the gummy glue got all over my hands and everything I touched! I got the job done but at great additional effort and additional expense on my part. I would not buy these again. ... show more

Easy to use, sticks very well, simple to apply, easy to cut to fit with utility scissors. Once applied properly these can be vacuumed. I use a roller broom as the suction from the vacuum rolled up a corner that wasn't cut perfectly square. A little carpet tack adhesive fixed that just fine. The difference in the room is like night and day. Went from ugly cold echo creating tile to a beautiful carpeted space in a few hours. You can take your time it doesn't have to be done all at once. The colour is a smoke gray and very pleasant to the eyes, compliments the decor and softens the room, the noise, and keeps it warmer than tile and won't slip like a rug could. It would be very good to use for noise reduction in rooms used for gaming or music or sewing machine noises are. I'm considering other spaces I could use these... they are great ... show more
