***UPDATE: Still love the product but never heard back from Customer Service about getting another set of magnets as mine fell off. I also cant find any Customer Service contact information on Amazon.*** Overall, fantastic product and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Much better than other versions that use a large, cumbersome plastic mounting system to hold monitor to the laptop. Here, the screen is easily removeable when not needed and all that is left are the 4, coin sized magnets (which blend right in since my laptop is silver). Absolutely increased my productivity when I am working away from my desk (where I use 2 standalone monitors). Only thing is I wish it were a bit brighter, but that may just be a personal thing so I'm not complaining, as overall picture quality, functionality and everything else is great. Seamless integration. Boots up quick and is ready to go in no time without any issues. Also no issues with laptop reverting back to original 1 screen view when it is removed. Only issue is the magnets. I read the reviews and made sure to thoroughly clean the laptop surface before installing magnets and they held great, without any problem, for almost 6 months. One of the magnets just fell off (other 3 are still fine), but the problem is that I lost it. It would be helpful if the product came with an extra set of magnets for situations like these (or if you want to use with 2 separate laptops, which I am considering as I just got a smaller laptop for easier travel.) Other than this, the magnets adhered well and were very sturdy so it was easy and reliable to be able to remove the extra screen when not needed. If the magnet that fell off didn't get lost, it would have been very easy to reattach with another piece of double stick tape. Overall, I think the magnet system works fine, though you may occasionally need to reattach a magnet here and there, but that is a small price to pay for the very solid and non-intrusive mounting method with magnets HOWEVER now I need another set of magnets to replace the one that fell off and got lost, which I am hoping the company will provide. I thought I saw in 1 or 2 prior reviews I looked at before buying that the company would send you a 2nd set of magnets upon request (SO HERE IS MY REQUEST lol). I don't know of any other way to contact the company about getting another set of magnets but I'm still looking. Here's hoping they send me more magnets. Other reviews said the customer service is great so I anticipate I will hear from them and get more magnets (and I'll update my review when I find out).

I have used this for about 9 months. I really love it and have come to depend on it. For years in different jobs, I had desktop computers with 2 monitors. Once you have 2 monitors, it is hard to go back. It really increases the productivity speed to be able to view a document and an email, or 2 documents, or two websites versus having to click back and forth from document to document, tab to tab, etc. I have not had a desktop at home for years, however, just my laptop, which was fine for typical home use. When I started teaching a couple of college classes as an adjunct last fall, I decided to look around at what was out there. I found this dual monitor setup, liked the reviews, and ordered it. It has exceeded my expectations. This monitor has been sturdy enough to handle a lot of movement. I end up taking it off my macbook and putting it back on frequently. The 4 magnets that you have to stick on the "lid" of the macbook are not so great looking if you care about style and have a cool cover, but for me, that didn't matter. I use this set up on a little laptop table when I am doing my class prep on the sofa. It is sturdy, but it is also pretty light and portable. If I take it with me in the book bag, I usually leave it attached to the laptop lid magnets. The whole thing fits in the padded laptop pocket with my 13" macbook. The extra weight is minimal. I used the monitor in portrait mode (so the long way is vertical) only a couple times to display a recipe in the kitchen. It worked good for that with the base folded back behind the screen, but to get my macbook to change the display to 'sideways' I have to reset the monitor settings through the mac's OS. I am too lazy for all those clicks to set it up and then return it to my normal landscape mode afterward, but the portrait mode is nice for a recipe because you don't have to scroll up and down from the ingredients list to the instructions. My typical use of the duex monitor is just plug and play. When I use it, I just put the monitor (collapsed into the base) on the magnets, slide screen out to the right, then attach the cable. The screen boots up and is ready to use in about 3 seconds. The mouse goes back and forth between the screens like it is one screen. I have the second monitor set at a different resolution, and that works fine. To my uncalibrated eye, the screen quality looks as good as my macbook which is a 2021 M1. The only weakness was the cable. So you should be careful plugging and unplugging it. Avoiding any bending where the cable meets the connector. The cable on mine developed a bad connection where the cable attaches to the male USB C connector. The bad connection there, internal to the insulation and not visible, caused the monitor to lose power intermittently. The intermittent monitor reboot made the laptop screen go blank for about 2-3 seconds while the computer adjusted, so that was making its use impractical. The company, however, was awesome about it. I reached out to them via Amazon, they responded immediately and sent me a new cable at no charge. They seem to be serious about providing good customer service. This review is totally voluntary. I received no reward of any kind and have no connection with the company.

The product is amazing... except that the glue that holds the metal plates on the case are failing and falling off. This issue happened within 24 hours of getting the product and mounting it on my laptop. Set up was super easy and the product works really well, expect the failure of the glue. I would love to get this resolved with the manufacturer, but have not been able to get a hold of them. Update: the customer support team was responsive to my initial review and replaced the product. The only issue I have is that the magnets do not stay on the laptop very well. I had to tape them down. The product itself is awesome and does exactly what I want it to do. I would buy it again.
