I've been a drummer for 30 years but only recently got into hand drumming. This is my first time owning or playing a darbuka, so I can't comment much on playability. However, this thing is beautiful! It appears to be very well made and I'm very happy with the quality! While I'm certain that I'll need to tweak the tuning, the sound is very nice as it came and is very consistent around the head. It was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. I hope to learn how to play it, but if nothing else it matches my carpeting perfectly and looks great in the living room! =) ... show more

As beautiful as it looks in the product images. Heavy, durable, gorgeous, and sounds great. Not the kind of sound you'd get from a ceramic drum with a natural skin head, but in this type it sounds as good as can be.

I’m very happy with my purchase! It was exactly at advertised in terms of size, shape, and design. It sounds great too. These MOP drums look much better in person than they do online. The photos don’t do them justice.
