I bought these cubes for a 2-week trip in a checked bag, but got to try them out on a shorter 5-day trip in a carry-on first. There are TONS of other options for cubes out there at much cheaper prices and with more cubes included but I went with these from Taskin for multiple reasons: Functionality and compression: • Love that they fully zip open on all 3 sides so they can be opened like a book - some others I was looking at don’t unzip all the way around. • I like the mesh on one side so you can actually see what’s in them. They are also alternating colors (the L has a black and a white, the M has a black and a white, etc) so you know you’re grabbing the correct one every time and not mixing them up. • Both the clean and dirty sides have double zips; this is useful because in a small space like a hotel room, you can hang the bag by the handle and open just the top of the cube, so you can access it while hanging without everything spilling out. • They do compress a surprising amount (though nothing miraculous) which I’m sure I’ll appreciate for my longer trips. • I used a size S and M for my carry-on for a 5-day trip, and will likely use all 6 for my 2-week trip in a large checked bag. Clean/dirty side: The clean/dirty side is great. Previously I would just pack a plastic laundry bag. That meant my clothes would be rolled and packed up super neat at the beginning of the trip, but by the end of the trip I’d be struggling to stuff a big laundry bag full of crumpled-up clothes back in my bag. Having a “dirty” side to these cubes keeps me organized the whole trip - I just re-roll the worn clothes and pop them into the other side of the cube. Quality of materials: I like that these have actual YKK zippers, and a plastic strip around the inside of zipper on the compression part which helps prevent them from snagging on the lining. The nylon ripstop on the compression portion and outside seems thick and sturdy. The mesh, maybe not so much - the mesh on the white bags seems noticeably thinner than the mesh on the black bags so I hope it holds up. Overall: Can’t think of really any downsides to these cubes. I’m a packing cube convert now and I’m really glad I went with these over a cheaper brand because they seem thoughtfully designed from a user perspective (color-coded, visual mesh, smooth double zips, fully openable, clean/dirty side). I agree with another review saying they seem over-engineered, in a good way.

On first look, I really like these. They seem sturdy, much more so then several other brands I have. The have two zipper compartments for both clean and dirty clothes and they are expandable. I travel almost weekly and I expect these to work well. Time will tell.

I ordered several brands and these are by far the best value for the money. Great, durable with quality materials. The dirty/clean sections are really nice for camping, hiking and to keep kids organized. Returning the others and ordering another set of these.

This is my 2nd set of these same cubes, after backing them on kickstartter and I just love them. The zippers are the highest quality I came across and no matter how much you load them up they take it without a glitch. I love the 2 side design for the flexibility it provides in packing various things while separating.

Went through several brands including Tripped and some more generic packing cubes. These are it. Helped compress and organize in a much more manageable way. Fits perfectly in my Tortuga travel pro 40L (largest bag on the zippered mesh side and next two largest stacked on the other). Zipping these was comparatively a breeze, and the addition of the dirty/clean sides is excellent.

I spent probably too much time shopping for compression packing cubes, so much so that if my trip was within a few weeks before my search began then I would have missed my flight and probably my whole vacation. You would probably think, “just pick some, they’re all the same”… well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are quite mistaken. Taskin’s compression packing cubes have taken all that’s great in other packing cubes, put that into their packing cubes and (as if by magic) compressed them down into what has turned out to be the epitome, no, the Platonic ideal of packing cubes! Okay, the hyperbole is fun, but here’s what you really need to know. They’re very well constructed, with a rip stop nylon exterior on five sides and a mesh panel on the sixth side. I tried them out with three weeks’ worth of travel clothing, and they did an admirable job getting everything organized. Some nice touches include the barrier in-between the sides is sort of ‘floating’, so you don’t miss out on getting a cube filled if you only need one side packed at that moment. Also, the zipper around the cube for compression has a clear plastic strip all the way around, which seems to do a decent job in preventing the zipper from being snagged onto the fabric. They’re also a nice cloth tab (made from material that reminds me of a seat belt) that you can grab ahold of to get the compression zipper going. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about these compression cubes; for what you get they’re reasonably priced, possibly over-engineered (but in a good way) and they have a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defects — I don’t know if they mean my lifetime our theirs, since theoretically corporations can ‘live’ forever, but they probably mean the lifetime of the product — so don’t go do something like bequeath them to your grandkids in 2050 and tell them that your dying wish is for them to contact Taskin to get that zipper looked at. Or go ahead and do it, I don’t care. Just give these compression packing cubes a shot; I don’t think you’ll stay awake at night regretting how you listened to a stranger on the internet and the stranger led you down the wrong path.
