I normally were size 8 1/2 -9 in normal width shoes. I also have high arches and the beginning of mild hammertoes from wearing heels for years. Best fit for me was 9 1/2 wide width. (Regular width is for a narrower foot, but if you have normal-wider foot, definitely size up and get wide width. If you normally wear wide width shoes you may need extra-wide width.) Shoes had good arch support, good cushioning and cradled the foot for better stability (as compared to fresh foam 1080 v14 style… which was very cushioned but less support around the foot.) ... show more

Very comfortable shoes & good for wide feet & for those who have pain issues with their feet. I bought theses shoes for my mother who has swollen feet & pain & these shoes are very helpful to her. They look nice too & don't make the feet look big.

I am still breaking these in but I usually go to a local running store for walking/running sneaks due to physical health issues.... but I've always worn NB for walking shoes so took a chance. Fit true to size.

    • Narrow in the toes, wide in the heel

I wore New Balance shoes for years in an 8.5 or 9 medium before realizing that I had wide feet and squished toes did not indicate a perfect fit. Switched to cheap wide walking shoes made in China that felt great but fell apart after three months. Did some measuring and it turns out that my feet are about 10cm wide at the widest point--just under four inches. There's no standard width sizing across brands the way there is for length; 25 cm long is just about always an 8.5, but 10 cm wide could be anything from C/D to E to EE. For New Balance the width measurement chart is hidden in a pdf on their website, and for size 8.5 the width specifications are 8.5 cm for narrow, 8.9 cm for regular, 9.3 cm for wide, and 9.6 cm for extra wide. So I knew they'd be narrow for my toes even in the widest width, and they are a bit but otherwise are comfortable and hopefully the toe box will stretch out with use. Unfortunately the heel is slightly too wide and I wish I could take the extra cm there and move it to the toes. Arch support is great. Hope to get a year or two out of these shoes. ... show more

In my opinion, these run short and narrow. I normally wear 8.5 wide, they were a bit snug and my toes touched the front of the shoe. I returned them for a 9 wide. These fit better, and I'm keeping them because they are basically comfortable and provide good support needed for a walking shoe. If you have a wide foot like mine - I'd suggest going XWide (if they have your size) and size up by half a size in length. This is a good solid shoe, but only giving 3 stars because it is not true to size. ... show more
