Good stability shoe. I personally quite like the high back and sides as it makes my ankles feel cradled and I never feel like the shoe will come off. Occasionally if I walk a very long time, especially if my gate is bad due to arthritis, I will have soreness on the outer portion of my sole, likely due to it forcing proper gate when I'm trying to pronate. But honestly, eventually your feet will be a bit sore no matter what kind of shoe you have with arthritis and long walks or runs so that's not a big downside. I like the fit and feel of this running shoe as it is built for the needs of severe overpronaters who want a cushioned, yet responsive, lightweight, motion-control training shoe built for the road. The toe-box is wide enough for toe splay without looking so massive. The show has a relatively stream-lined look that doesn’t compromise stability and doesn’t feel too stacked. Cushioning is foamy and bouncy. Plush tongue and fab color-scheme. Looking forward to running in them! I’m hoping to feel the ground enough since the shoe feels cushioned under the toe/ ball pad areas yet feels like there is has a gradual reduction of fresh foam from heel to toe. Other brand shoe was too pillowy and so could not sense when to push-off (too much cushion for me?) resulting in unwanted sensation of running on the moon as I could not sense the ground. Not only was this frustrating, it resulted in biomechanical changes in gait and form that resulted in injuries. ... show more

    • Love these - but regular 8 TOO NARROW!
Go wide! The first pair my husband ordered for me (a Christmas gift) was my regular size 8. I loved the way they looked - I got the coral color. But, they squeezed my feet terribly - both the top of my foot and the toes, even just testing them out on our carpet at home. Since, I have both plantar fasciitis and peripheral neuropathy, I definitely couldn't keep a pair of shoes that hurt my feet even more than they already do. The whole point was to get myself a good, comfortable pair of walking/running shoes. Looking at the other reviews which state the same, these shoes obviously have a design flaw - they're too tight! And I don't have wide feet. I've never ordered a "wide" in my life. But I decided to go in person to try on an 8 wide in the New Balance store, and they felt so much better! They didn't have this adorable color, though, so I reordered from Amazon in an 8 wide. They arrived the other day and they fit perfectly. I look forward to covering many miles in these. ... show more

My 89-year-old mother-in-law is convinced that she can only wear New Balance shoes. And she only likes basic black, no fancy color accents thank you very much. It's tough to find exactly what she wants, but these worked out great and she likes them a lot. I think they will hold up really well, so we won't have to do this search again for a long while. Now I can move onto the next issue on her never-ending list, lol. ... show more

I love New Balance. I did a good bit of research before buying this shoe. I am walking 4+ miles per day and need the support that I thought this shoe would give me. It did have good support but it is way smaller than the size says it is. I went up a 1/2 size due to other reviews and it was still very tight on my foot and my toes. I did return the shoe for a refund but would definitely buy New Balance in the future,. ... show more

These shoes are so comfortable and I love the color. I wanted to buy more in different colors because I loved them so much. The first time I wore them was a 3 mile walk, and they didn’t hurt my feet at all. no blisters. They fit great.
