I tried the v10s when they came out and was very disappointed. But when I tried the v11 I was glad I did! They are the most comfortable ones yet! Great for people whose knees or back or hurt when on their feet all day. I'm a nurse and just wore these during a 20 hour shift with no pain afterwards. Your heel feels like it's floating (there's kind of a pocket for it). So although my heel never touches the ground there's plenty of support. Foam is very comfortable and cushy but with plenty of support underneath.

The shoe has great cushion under the ball of the foot and heel, and the heel cup feels secure. The problem is the midfoot and arch area. While it offers some arch support, the laces are tight and come up very high on the instep causing pain throughout the top of the foot. If you loosen the laces, you lose the stability offered by the more rigid "N" on the sides, and your foots slides forward and side to side. It also has a more rocker style bottom that makes the heel to toe drop feel like less than its advertised 8mm. Really wish NB would go back to the more traditional versions 8 and 9 of the 1080. A light shoe is great, but not at the expense of support and stability. This shoe's support is all in the "N", the heel, and the laces. A padded tongue and a less knitted fabric around the toe box would be a great upgrade. Lastly, this shoes runs small. I had to go up a half size for length.

I skipped up from my old Version 9 shoes to this model, I thought they looked a little better than the Version 10. The sole feels like walking on air, even more so than my Version 9 shoes, but the width and length seem a bit loose. I wear a Women's size 11, and sometimes manufacturers will make ALL dimensions larger the higher you go up in size, instead of just making them longer and moving the arch accordingly. Again, the sole feels right mechanically, it's the upper that is wider than normal, and you can only close up the laces so tight before distorting the shape. My toes are a distance from hitting inside, which it fine, I'm not worried about tripping, but I am working on finding the correct lace tightness to remove all slip, it's only been a week so far. I think ordering a 1/2 size down is smart. I will do that when it's time for the replacement in about 6 months :)

I have run in 1080s for years and love them all, but not this one. The heel has a very funky protrusion inside. It felt ok but not great when I tried them on, as new models sometimes do, but after three runs they just never settled in. Not a good version, terrible heel. An expensive failure. Avoid.

Absolutely love this shoe. Fits true to my size 9 wide. I am on my feet 12 hrs a day and theses shoes are so comfy and worth purchasing!! Love them! I also put an insert in them for higher arch support and it works great.

These shoes are awesome. I didn't know the difference between the New Balance 1080 version 10 and version 11. Now I do. I always liked the version 10, but I love love the version 11 better. Even though they cost more money now it's worth it for the perfect fit. I've already ordered a second pair in another color.

The shoes fit true to size, this is the third pairs I’ve purchased and all have it perfectly. The laces are slightly elastic so they have just enough give when you’re running, and are not too tight or too loose. I typically change out my running shoes every 500 miles and these last beyond that. They are so well made I will often change out the insoles & keep wearing for lower-intensity workouts.
