Years ago, I had foot surgery for an injury following a fall. It was 6 months before I could even begin to walk again, but when I was okayed to start weight bearing, these specific shoes are what the surgeon recommended (with inserts). They are very supportive shoes, and are still what I wear to this day. I have severe arthritis in my foot from the injury and surgery. I have foot pain everyday and am a CNA that is constantly on my feet at work. I have tried other shoes, both New Balance and other brands, but nothing compares to these. The only downfall is that they only come in plain white (and black, I think), so they look quite boring. However, to me, comfort outweighs fashion. ... show more

Shoe is great. Good support and comfort. Made of real leather. I was not happy that I had to return them. I am a size 10.5. But this shoe runs small so I had to return them and order a size 11. I recommend this shoe, but I also recommend that you purchase a half size larger than what you would normally wear. UPDATE: I ordered the size 11 and they fit perfectly. Definitely order a half size larger that what you would normally wear. The sneaker it quite comfortable. And the support is wonderful. It is going to be a great shoe for the gym. ... show more
